Motels near Space Needle

Located in the Lower Queen Anne neighborhood, this iconic landmark and observation tower was built for the 1962 World’s Fair. Perch on the glass benches known as “Skyrisers” and gaze out of floor-to-ceiling windows, snap a selfie at the outdoor deck, or head upstairs to The Loupe, an indoor lounge featuring the world’s first and only rotating glass floor. Here, you’ll be greeted with 360-degree views of the downtown Seattle skyline, Mount Rainier, Elliot Bay, and the Olympic and Cascade Mountains. For a smooth-sailing experience, it’s best to pre-purchase a timed ticket. Space Needle is also a part of CityPASS. – Tripadvisor

There has been over 69 million people that have traveled to the 520-foot Observation Deck. The 45 millionth visitor received two free trips for two to Paris—You may be lucky to be the 70 millionth visitor! Going to the top is one of those iconic must do activities—at least once—while visiting Seattle. We would recommend that you wait to buy your ticket the day of—praying for good weather. We went on a cloudy day and missed the seeing Mount Rainier and Mount Baker views. We also recommend bundling your ticket with viewing Chihuly Garden and Glass exhibit nearby. We thought visiting Chihuly to be as exciting as the Seattle Space Needle. The glass displays are incredible. If you ever been in the foyer of Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas, you know what we mean. Built in 400 days for the 1962 World’s Fair, the elevator up only takes 43 seconds going 10 mph. We went early in the morning and the crowds were less. My wife has claustrophobia and was able to tolerate the elevator ride. There are numerous plagues of information. Large glass windows will allow you to see 360 degrees around. There is a ticket available to let you to go up in the day time and later at night if you wish. The SkyCity Restaurant at the time of our visit was not open. We did experience the Observation Tower rotating one mile an hour. It rotates once every 45 minutes. We recommend taking the Bainbridge ferry from Pier 50 and seeing downtown Seattle and the Needle at night. For only $10 dollars, it is the best deal in Seattle. The Hyatt House Seattle/downtown is one of the closest hotels to the Needle. It is a decent 3-star hotel with breakfast. A number of the rooms we found have views of the Needle. A nice visit especially for the construction history. Upstairs there are so many people that it is difficult to see really well especially when some are photographed from all angles. Very long queue even at 9:30. The rotating bar is nice but it was closed. The price is high but you can couplet it with the touching glass garden. I recommend the covered parking next door: $25 per 12 hours, but we're making them profitable because several attractions are nearby.

We had set ourselves that a visit, whatever the cost, would be a must as one of the main attractions of the city. Fortunately we opted for Citypass and bought more visits at discounted prices, we went early in the morning and after a long but fast line we went up and the show from there is really exceptional. You will enjoy the whole horizon at 360 ° the strongest emotion you have in the inner lower floor as the floor, swivel, like the whole upper ring, is made of glass. At the entrance a souvenir photo is taken that you can then download (for free!) from their quote with the choice of 2 wallpapers. Returning to the visit externally is very exciting but I preferred the internal part. I would never have come back down so many possible views and curiosities of Seattle There is also a restaurant and lounge bar with a view, honest prices, you are always in America and 180 meters high. Below the base of the tower there is a large shop with souvenirs of all kinds and prices that deserves a ride and some shopping. I highly recommend!

Had a great time with my significant other. The staff was very friendly. When you first walk in you get to read about the tower being built and what major events happened at the same time. Then you take an elevator up and the staff member points out the sites as you go up. When you reach the top you can stay inside or go outside to the walkway. There are beautiful sites. They offer alcohol and coffee with pie. You can also get a free photo at the entrance. It's not up top

We did not have to queue for long at the ticket booth on a Friday afternoon in May and then follow the meandering walk to the lifts which allow you, if you wish, to take in all of the information and photographs of how the needle came to be. We did and found it informative, stop and take it in at a pace of your choice. Take a nice swift elevator ride to the top and experience the view outside, and in on the platform below. There is a bar and eatery if you wish to partake. Perhaps best to view their website in advance to see what you may like to take in and possibly book a package ticket. Once up there we enjoyed a nice beverage with a view, tourist prices but not extortionate as you always pay for the view. When in Rome, or Seattle, we did and enjoyed the leisurely experience, had to be done. There is the obligatory gift shop at the bottom with a variety of gifts on offer should you wish to be tempted. All in all, we were happy with our first experience of looking down on Seattle.

To be honest I do not think that the Space Needle is worth a visit, especially with how expensive it is. Probably the most interesting part is just at the very beginning with the pictures of the actual build of the building. Don´t forget that there is not that much to see when you are on top since Seattle does not really have any landmarks. Tickets can be bought at the ticket office or at the automatic machines just outside the Space Needle. Tips: - There is a combined ticket with the Chihuly glass museum which is just next to the Space Needle, and the glass museum is definitely worth visiting - Take the monorail to get here

As a child, I was at the Worlds Fair. So on this trip to Seattle, going to the Space Needle was top of the list. We walked to the entrance and found a long line to buy tickets. We saw three self service kiosks to buy tickets so we opted to get our tickets there for availability in the next 15 minutes. While there, we encountered a man who bought his tickets online but could not get in the entrance until he stood in the long line of buying tickets in person. He said he wished he knew about the kiosks. The other learning experience was, there is a restaurant on the rotating glass floor level that one needs a reservation for. We did not know that, but there is a small bar on the same glass floor level one can go to first come/first serve. Timing is everything!

Just feeling the genius of man expressed many years ago in this lofty construction simply surprises. Without having advanced technology they were able to accomplish such a feat. It has a turntable with transparent floor that makes the experience much more attractive. It has cameras on the upper level that when you check in you take a selfie photo. The photos are completely free and you can download them on the website.

Following the misconception that you could just go there on a weekday and then drive comfortably to the landmark of the city is a big mistake for many tourists, because we too only received tickets for the early evening of the same day in the morning. Built for the 1962 World's Fair, the 184-metre-high lookout and restaurant tower is the city's landmark and offers a good overview of the city. Admission fees: between 39 - 46,50 USD depending on time

We had planned to go to the higher observation site, but this place is iconic, and the story of its building is very interesting. We booked a combined ticket for the needle and the Chihuly Museum and Garden. Book for the morning if you can, the needle opens at 9 and there is no wait to get in. By 10 there was a line, by 4:30 they are sold out. Great views, lots of fun, and take a walk on the revolving glass floor. Chihuly is a hidden gem. It is gorgeous and definitely worth going for the colors and the shapes. Do it on its own if you don't like heights. Do not waste time or money on the food in the Armory except maybe Starbucks if you are in the mood.
