Hotels near Space Needle

Located in the Lower Queen Anne neighborhood, this iconic landmark and observation tower was built for the 1962 World’s Fair. Perch on the glass benches known as “Skyrisers” and gaze out of floor-to-ceiling windows, snap a selfie at the outdoor deck, or head upstairs to The Loupe, an indoor lounge featuring the world’s first and only rotating glass floor. Here, you’ll be greeted with 360-degree views of the downtown Seattle skyline, Mount Rainier, Elliot Bay, and the Olympic and Cascade Mountains. For a smooth-sailing experience, it’s best to pre-purchase a timed ticket. Space Needle is also a part of CityPASS. – Tripadvisor

Wow the view . I was lucky as it was blue skies and a clear view
Well organised visit. Bought ticket at the venue with one of the machines outside. It was not that busy so straight through and up the elevator. A beautiful view of the city and harbour from the top. A must visit although not cheap. I went as a solo visitor and very easy to visit.

    Space Needle Experience
As a child, I was at the Worlds Fair. So on this trip to Seattle, going to the Space Needle was top of the list. We walked to the entrance and found a long line to buy tickets. We saw three self service kiosks to buy tickets so we opted to get our tickets there for availability in the next 15 minutes. While there, we encountered a man who bought his tickets online but could not get in the entrance until he stood in the long line of buying tickets in person. He said he wished he knew about the kiosks. The other learning experience was, there is a restaurant on the rotating glass floor level that one needs a reservation for. We did not know that, but there is a small bar on the same glass floor level one can go to first come/first serve. Timing is everything!

Great view on a sunny day for a hefty price
$36 plus tax is quite a number (and I'm a senior with discount!). It included a photo which can be downloaded later. The view was great, thanks to a sunny day. Interesting: I had my car in a nearby garage which was recommended on the Space Needle website. $20, wow. But when I came back 2 hours later, it was $35!. I don't know what's the purpose of this strange algorithm.

    Stunning Views
Staff nice and friendly, glass elevator to top. Stunning 360 views. Take the stairs down to the revolving glass floor! Refreshments on the top floor and plenty of restrooms. Go early to avoid the long queues.

Something you should do at least once
The space needle is somewhere you should plan on visiting at least once. We have been a few times and it's always awesome to see the city from up high. The only negative this last time was that they only had 1 elevator running and it made for long lines up and long lines down.

Dream Come True to see where they filmed "It Happened at the World's Fair" and "Sleepless In Seattle"
Amazing and worth the entry fee. We got tickets right before sun went down to see the city, then saw the sunset over the city, and then the lights of the city come on. Absolutely stunning! Don't forget to go down to the revolving floor where they filmed Sleepless in Seattle. There is a small bar down there, but the rest of the space is a glass walkway and a carpeted walkway that revolves. We almost missed this space.

A nice tower experience with a view of Seattle
We did not have to queue for long at the ticket booth on a Friday afternoon in May and then follow the meandering walk to the lifts which allow you, if you wish, to take in all of the information and photographs of how the needle came to be. We did and found it informative, stop and take it in at a pace of your choice. Take a nice swift elevator ride to the top and experience the view outside, and in on the platform below. There is a bar and eatery if you wish to partake. Perhaps best to view their website in advance to see what you may like to take in and possibly book a package ticket. Once up there we enjoyed a nice beverage with a view, tourist prices but not extortionate as you always pay for the view. When in Rome, or Seattle, we did and enjoyed the leisurely experience, had to be done. There is the obligatory gift shop at the bottom with a variety of gifts on offer should you wish to be tempted. All in all, we were happy with our first experience of looking down on Seattle.

    Simply Iconic
I went with some friends on a Saturday in October 2023. The tower can be seen from almost the entire city. Locating it is more than easy. We buy tickets online at least an hour before. Everything was digital. We paid almost $40 each. Access was as easy as scanning the ticket and that's it. We stood in line for about half an hour but they took a nice official photo. The experience is incredible. They allow cameras but they also take official photos everywhere. From the moment the elevator goes up, it conquers you. The view is exceptional. The observatory at the top and the rotating floor are super exciting. They have meals, coffee and snacks for sale. Also, a souvenir shop. Typical prices but, if you look hard, you will find things at a good price. You can't miss this place.

    Iconic Seattle Skyline
Definitely an experience that you can’t miss in Seattle - it is so iconic to the city! The views were great (and the lines were decently long even with a timed ticket). I would recommend a trip to the top to go out on the observation deck and walk over the glass floor. We visited on a sunny day and had a great view of Mount Rainer! Food options were very limited up top to drinks and a few desserts. Miss the revolving restaurant option of years back, but hoping they give it a refresh and come back with a new one. If you have time, combine this one with Chihully Glass Museum and Garden (trust me - so worth it!)

    You gotta do this
We had planned to go to the higher observation site, but this place is iconic, and the story of its building is very interesting. We booked a combined ticket for the needle and the Chihuly Museum and Garden. Book for the morning if you can, the needle opens at 9 and there is no wait to get in. By 10 there was a line, by 4:30 they are sold out. Great views, lots of fun, and take a walk on the revolving glass floor. Chihuly is a hidden gem. It is gorgeous and definitely worth going for the colors and the shapes. Do it on its own if you don't like heights. Do not waste time or money on the food in the Armory except maybe Starbucks if you are in the mood.
