Well put together but exhausting and depressing
After nearly two hours, I was really depressed. It's overwhelming, but if you don't know much about WWII, it's very educational. I did not know, for instance, that the US fought with the Brits against Italy in No Africa... or that this was because Churchill cautioned Roosevelt that the Americans were not well trained enough to go up against the Nazi's until they had fought elsewhere first. He was right of course. But boy it's just war, war, war all the way through and it's very exhausting.

    Awesome experience
Great museum. Great exhibits and information. The dog tag experience was informational and a great way to learn about a solider who served and hear their stories. Skip the Tang experience. It was not worth the time or money. The beyond boundaries was great. Great volunteers and very helpful. Plan for a full day and still not see everything.

A must see location for the world war 2 enthusiast
Located just outside of the Infamous French Quarter but still within walking distance. This museum has one of the best collection of materials related to World War II housed in five separate pavilions each with its own theme. It’s affiliated with the Smithsonian.

A must see museum in New orleans
Second time here. Very moving experience. Need more than one day if you were to read and see everything. The 4D theater is scary and sad at same time. Thank you to all veterans as guides throughout museum

    A Must See
Well organized look into many aspects of WWII such as European consequences, the ramping up of industry and the new participation of women in the labor force, government action against Japanese Americans. Detailed exhibits were interesting and well designed. We left Building 1 without finishing as we had tickets to the movie in Building 2. If you remember the sensations of battle from Saving Pvt. Ryan, these are magnified in the movie.

    A Must See
Everyone should visit this museum! It is an exceptionally well done educational memoir of WWII. It is easy to see how it is the #1 attraction in New Orleans. It is worth a trip to the city just to spend a day there. Everyone should have an insight into that most important time in our history. It is very well organized and helpful volunteers are everywhere to offer assistance. Don’t miss it!

    Wonderful Museum
My husband and I recently visited the museum and were totally blown away at what an amazing museum about WWll. We thought we would be done in two hours but 4 hours later we still had more to see. Each area was beautifully done and so informative. We enjoyed our visit and definitely would go back again. The restaurants on site were wonderful

    A must see!
An absolute must see. Great museum with impactful exhibits. All sorts of experiences including a 4D movie for an extra $11. I would have liked to see WW II vintage vehicles, but that is the only negative. We arrived right at opening and were there almost to close. Fantastic experience!

Really, a must see when in New Orleans!
Simply cannot give this museum enough praise and accolades. My mom was a small child in Germany during WWII, so, some parts were rough for her and brought some tough memories to the surface, but, she believes everyone should know as much as possible about this time in history, in hopes that someday all humans can find peaceful solutions, despite differences. Everyone can learn many things in this museum, and, if I'm fortunate enough to find myself in News Orleans again, I'll be visiting again, as it would be hard to give attention to everything curated in one visit!
