I am 70 and my son is 42. We both had so much fun. we took an encounter with the lemurs and they are wonder, soft, and friendly. The guide was so personable and informative. The photographer was great and the pictures turned out wonderful. They were so worth the $50 we spent on the photos

The lemur encounter was one of the best family experiences we have ever had and we have had dozens of animal encounter zoo experiences. The lemurs are so soft and sweet and the keeper is informative and helpful. A must do while in Miami. The Nala acrobatic show was also very impressive. The performers work incredibly hard and accomplished some pretty amazing stunts during the show. Definitely worth seeing. I will say that the park is definitely geared towards family with kids 12 and under.

We took the VIP Tour, RYAN our guide was extraordinary. Besides being entertaining, he has a lot of experience and knowledge, it is expensive but very worthwhile. My only 2 improvement points would be: Bathrooms require remodeling, although they are very clean. THE store looks very thawed and very poorly stocked, I think there they are losing a good business area. There are no t-shirts or attractive products (with logo) that there are look very cheap. Too much.

Jungle Island had a Luminosa display during Christmas, and our family went. It was great. Beautiful illuminations, and an absolutely fabulous show with Chinese performers where children participated, and they had lots of fun. One of the performers did a Chinese Face-Changing routine that was amazing. A Christmas Village with costumed carolers and a mini Café inside was also located inside the venue.

The VIP tour is a one-of-kind experience. You meet and feed flamingos, the tortoises Igor and Frankenstein, the three resident wallabies, and, best of all, the joyful lemurs that climb all over you. Our guide Sandra was so warm and knowledgeable, you can tell she loves them as much as we loved spending time with them. Simply extraordinary!

We had a few hours to kill after our cruise and before our flight so we decided to check out Jungle Island. It was perfect to spend a couple hours there. (and only 10 min from the cruise port). Its not very big so doesnt take much time to explore. 2 of our kids even did the mid-tier ($60) TreeTop Trekking. It only took them about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes to complete. I will say the Treetop Trekking is way over priced. $60pp for something that took 1/2 hour to complete? A bit much but whatever. Even after the ropes course, they still had plenty of time to explore the park. PROS: Guest Relations will hold your luggage if you are traveling, which is nice. Lots of CUTE animals! Especially the little monkeys! Oh my gosh we were dying at how cute they were! We went when the set up for Luminoso was there and even though it was daytime and we didnt see them lit up, they were still really cool. Also, there are a couple playgrounds that my kids loved and were able to get their energy out. CONS: Petty zoo was a disappointment. You cant actually enter and pet them. You can feed them from outside the fence and there were just goats. Nothing else.

Fantastic time we had with the lemurs. Ryan was an amazing guide who provided enough information without overworking us with facts. The lemurs are the sweetest and were so happy!!!! It’s pricey (so is everything in the Miami area) but well worth it for such a rare experience as being with the animals.

My husband and I are animal lovers, and we did the lemur encounter as an anniversary treat. It was fantastic!!! Total one of a kind experience--the lemurs are adorable and jump ALL over you to be fed and petted. I was beside myself. We both loved it. Ryan, our guide, was absolutely top-notch. So interesting and knowledgable and had a wonderful relationship with the animals. We never purchase photos taken by a park, but these were so great we splurged--now we have photos of lemurs on our heads. The rest of the park is small and more suited to families with young children. Our son would have loved it when he was little, and it would have been a good family destination at that time in our lives, we would have been underwhelmed if we had just gone with a regular admission. Definitely do an animal encounter!

The VIP tour our family took with Ryan Jacob's today was truly unforgettable. Ryan's extensive & impressive knowledge, unwavering devotion to the animals, and love of the park made every encounter a uniquely memorable experience. His passion was contagious, and our son was completely captivated (and so were we). We appreciate the truly excellent care the animals receive, and their interactions with Ryan were remarkable. His calm and confident presence allowed the animals to really enjoy our company and it was an excellent experience in every way. We would like to extend our gratitude to Ryan and also Pedro, the photographer, for their exceptional service and for capturing our special moments. We will be back to do this again!

I have been going to Jungle Island for many years and have always enjoyed it. It isn't a huge place, but the Animal Encounters are excellent! They have added a tree top ropes course which I didn't do but looked like everyone was having a great time. The staff for the Animal Encounters is excellent.
