In May 2012 she once again began plying the waters of Key Largo and currently offers canal and dinner cruises. We go out daily at 10am, 12am, 2pm, 4pm and 6pm. On Fridays and Saturdays at 6pm we offer a dinner cruise to the Pilot House Marina where passengers disembark and enjoy dinner in the restaurant before boarding the vessel once again to return to the Marina Del Mar. The African Queen rocks
I never thought I'd get a chance to ride in the boat that was used in making the movie. It was very relaxing, and we got to see many beautiful homes in the canals. We also looked at pictures of the movie being made, and I can't say enough about Captain Dave. He was a wealth of information on the boat and so very nice. There were four of us, one younger person who had never seen the movie. He now intends to watch it. All of us highly recommend this adventure and learning experience.

    Loved it!
A great tour and Captain Dave is wealth of information about the history of the boat. Just to see that old steam engine and boiler and hear all about that was amazing. Highly recommend the tour especially if you know the movie or just love old boats. And I'm sure I'm not the only one who went home and watched the African Queen movie again.

A rare piece of cinema history you can ride in.
The real African Queen. My wife and I are fans of C. S. Forrester’s book, and of course, the Bogart/Hepner movie of 1951, so the chance to actually ride in the boat from the movie was required in our trip to the keys. The captain was friendly and full of trivia about the boat, the movie and even the canals we cruised through. He took time to position the boat offshore for the best photos and took them for the groups on the Queen. We enjoyed the ride and recommend the tour to old movie buffs everywhere.

    A must for movie fans
We booked a trip, then watched the movie for a recap! We spent about an hour and a half cruising and learning about the history of the boat from Captain Dave. There were lots of photo opportunities too. We initially booked an afternoon ride, but rain stopped play. The captain that day was kind enough to let us sit on the boat, under cover, and helped rearrange our trip for the next morning. We really enjoyed the experience and would recommend it to anyone who is a fan of the movie.

Nice Tour but Should Have Narration
We loved seeing up close and riding in the original “African Queen” boat but this tour would be 100% better if it was narrated by the captain. Nothing against our boat captain he was pleasant enough. We happened to be sitting next to him so we engaged in conversation and he shared with us stories and some interesting things about the sights. But, if we had been sitting in the front as the others on the tour we would not have heard anything. It’s a lovely tour and a piece of movie history but it should have some narration.

    Great little private cruise.
A great little cruise for those who loved the movie. Captain Dave was very skilled and very informative. He knew the movie and the way the ship came to be in Key Largo. He was also very informative about Key Largo and the Keys in general.

Must do while in Key Largo
This is the original 'African Queen' from the Bogart movie. A very pleasant, scenic cruise through the canals, with a bit of time in the Atlantic ocean (well within a half-mile of the inlet). Captain Dave provided a good overview of the boat, its history, highlights of the canals, etc. It didn't feel like we spent a little more than 1.5 hours on the boat. Well worth the adventure, even if you have limited time in Key Largo.

    Travel Back In Time
Original boat, Captain Lance has many stories and photos, opportunity to steer, posed as Hepburn did and poured out the bottle of rum (water) over the side of the boat. About 1 and 1/2 hr ride in the canal and out into the Straits of Florida on the Atlantic Ocean. That’s when you realize you’re on a small boat!
