Set in the Perdana park region, also home to butterfly and orchid gardens; a planetarium; and the National Mosque, the KL Bird Park offers a slice of avian-focused nature in a sprawling, open-air setting. I can’t say for everyone, but as a wheelchair user, they admitted me in for free, which I thought was fantastic. (And the premises are fully wheelchair-accessible, albeit not ADA compliant.) You start at one entry point and continue down that path for a few hundred meters before being able to branch off into different sections—a flamingo pond, ostrich area, stork area, etc. Despite the heat, I liked how the facility is entirely open-air with loose netting, allowing the birds to fly quite freely, albeit in a perfect world they’d be completely free. The only downsides I experienced: I would’ve appreciated “quality” over quantity, in that more bird species would’ve been nice to see instead of lots of peacocks, flamingos, and others. Now to play devil’s advocate…perhaps I simply needed to look more closely! However, it still felt like there was an enormous number of those specific birds and not a huge number of other species. Moreover, I’d have enjoyed even more signage along the trails describing each major bird species and their geographic range. There were a decent amount of signs, but I never got the gist of the birds’ geography and the depth I would’ve liked about their behavior and characteristics. All in all, I recommend KL Bird Park, especially if visiting KL for the first time and wish for a taste of local nature!

We loved KL Bird park, such a tropical beautiful place to spend a few hours, seeing lots of different birds in pretty gardens with palm trees and waterfalls. We really enjoyed feeding the brightly coloured lorikeets. Lots of variety of birds and even spotted a few monkeys too. The treetop restaurant does great food and we sat outside soaking up the sun in such a tranquil setting. Would highly recommend.

We really had a great time here seeing all different kinds of species of birds. Several were roaming free within large habitats and I couldn't see any signs of distress that I could tell. The groundskeepers were constantly cleaning and feeding and there were fresh vegetables and fruit in nearly all the habitats. Zero smell and totally spotless. There were encounters where you pay 1 MYR to feed the lorakeets with some honey milk and I highly recommend doing this! The open ostrich and emu enclosures have fresh green stem vegetables and you're allowed to take however much you want to feed the animals through the gates. Super fun and a beautiful space within central KL. Highly recommend to go with friends or family!

This bird park has many different species of birds but it needs some upgrading . There are some taking place meaning a couple of areas are closed . I think to get maximum entertainment out of the park it would be best to arrive early when most feeding takes place. Entry is 85RM for an adult and 60RM for a child.

A fantastic collection of birds from all over the world in a series of walk-in aviaries & individual (large) aviaries. Located just outside of the city, I got there via the hop-on/hop-off bus (about 1hr from Stop #1). I paid at the gate (MYR 85.00). The Park is well set out, although set in a valley, there are easy walk paths to allow everyone to get around; a couple of the walk-in aviaries have double-door access which maybe a bit tricky in a wheel chair. Allow yourself a few hours to take it all in; I spent an enjoyable 3hrs walking among the birds.

This is the world’s largest free flying bird park and oh my goodness it shows. The place is huge with so many exotic and local birds. Some you can only see in this part of the world, especially the hornbill. Added to that there’s some monkeys and lizards thrown in! It’s £15 for foreigners, so a little pricier considering the location, but it’s definitely worth it. You can feed some of the birds too, adding to the fun. There is also a really nice cafe, called the hornbill, actually inside one of the bird parks. You can eat good and relatively priced food alongside some of the birds!!

Not sure why I went in really, perhaps I thought the birds would have so much flying space. I was ok until I saw white peacocks in the smallest space. The pelicans didn’t look at all healthy. The Malaysian bird was like a dog coming up the edge of the cage trying to grab attention like help me? The netting to the largest bird area had holes everywhere. The gift shop was a usual money grab for pricing. Those that attend may have a different experience to me. You can get a hop on hop off bus right to the sanctuary. The entrance price is about 60-80rm Ha e some good walking shoes. Don’t forget to look up and you will see monkeys !

I knew coming here, it would not be a match to Bird Paradise in Singapore. But i enjoyed it nonetheless. Birds are free to fly around. There are tons of peacocks wandering about, but it must have been molting season as the peacocks were dropping their feathers. The weather was incredibly hot in early April, we had gone morning when to be done by noon . You can walk under the shade of the trees which were plenty. The only negative is that we noticed holes in the nets in some areas which would enable birds to either escape or enter the aviary. It does look run down in some parts. The ostrich section was abit sad, vegetables were left in a basket so visitors could feed it, there was no one manning the place.

We visited the Kuala Lumpur bird park whilst on holiday in Kuala Lumpur. We were actually intending to visit the botanical gardens however we took a bit of a wrong turn and ended up visiting this place instead. Unexpectedly, this was actually one of the best places we visited whilst in Malaysia. Most of the birds here are 'free roaming', meaning you get go right up to them. The only ones that aren't are ones like the emus which you wouldn't really want to come face-to-face with! There are lots of different types of birds to see and there is plenty of terrain to explore. We didn't quite realise how big this place was until we started looking round properly. Contrary to some of the reviews on here, we found this place to be quite well kept. The birds looked well-cared for and nourished and there was even an opportunity to feed coconut milk to some of the birds. There are places to get food and drink here, including the Hornbill Café which we found served a really good variety of food. Overall, I really enjoyed by visit to the Kuala Lumpur Bird Park and I would highly recommend visiting this attraction if you're in Kuala Lumpur!

Quite large on hilly grounds. Good open concept where birds roam around. But not worth the ridiculous MYR85 for foreigners. Beware that walking paths are slippery and uncovered during rain.
