    Safari in the City
This is an amazing experience! This is the only place on earth with a wildlife area in or abutting a large metropolitan city. The park fit the need for someone who wants to see African animals but who don't have time and money for a multi-day safari in other regions of Kenya. We saw sonny amazing sites in o e morning - giraffes, water buffalo, lions, hippopotamus and more. It was mind blowing. Our tour guide, who we contracted, privately, know the park like the back of his hand. We tended to be the first or early to see several animals before others arrived. We opted for a package that included the Sheldtrick Trust's Elephant Orphanage and the Giraffe Center. It cost us 100 per person. I registered through the eCitizen Kenya portal. This is a convenient way to register for the park but also other sites like museums. Once we got past some delays at the Main Gate we had a great experience. One big issue. There is no working washroom in the park. No portajohn , no nothing. We were escorted to a bathroom area, but it was not fit for use. This particularly bad for female visitors. This needs to be resolved.

    Safari in the city!
This is one of the best experiences while visiting Nairobi. If you can't venture out beyond the city, this park gives you a varied number of animals to see in their natural environment. This was my second time visiting, and I loved it as much as the first time.

If you are self driving, allow plenty of time at the gate for entry….
The online entry & payment form is tedious & time consuming. We were self drive & found it not user friendly at all. Even the lady who worked at our hotel described it as tiresome!! After travelling around Kruger National Park in South Africa, with an easy system (& so much cheaper) we were disappointed to spend so much time at an entry gate, waiting for help, as we found it impossible to upload our passport photos onto their system. We’ve had a great holiday & loved travelling in Kenya, however would like to pass on this information, especially as the entry price is set to rise considerably again later this year.

    Nairobi National Park Visit
My friends recommended a visit to Nairobi National Park during our stay in Nairobi, Kenya. Reflecting on our experience, the park is expansive and offers sightings of the 'big four'; the only notable absence is elephants, though baby ones can be seen at the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage. With a bit of luck and a patient guide, the experience can be enriching. The entrance fee was reasonable; we paid $90 for two people. Despite a bit of a wait to get in, the experience was undoubtedly worth it. Over four hours, we enjoyed sightings of spectacular wildlife against the backdrop of Nairobi's skyline. For those short on time in Kenya, this park offers a quick yet authentic safari experience right in the capital. Additionally, a tip for fellow travelers: I always suggest getting a local Safaricom SIM card and activating M-PESA for convenient phone-based payments. It's widely used across Kenya.. Safe travels!

    Best Game Drive Ever
Looking at wildlife in the back drop of a city is really a magical experience. Had one of the best game drives ever. Nairobi national park itself is where you should start your trip in Kenya. Much appreciations to our guide Robert who helped us plan and execute a cross Kenya experience touring Lake Nakuru National Park, Amboseli and Hells Gate without as much as a hiccup. I feel obliged to endorse him, his contacts are +254725894994 and rthuo541@gmail.com

It's a very nice option to relax and to start your safari close to the city
We had an amazing safari with Tanzania Horizon Safaris to Nairobi National Park before heading to Tanzania! The park was beautiful and a great starting point, with wildlife so close to the city – we saw lions, giraffes, and rhinos! Our guide Julius was fantastic, sharing lots of interesting facts and spotting animals we would have missed. The whole trip was perfectly organized, making everything stress-free and enjoyable. It was the perfect start to our adventure, setting the tone for our travels in Tanzania. After the safari, we had dinner at the Carnivore restaurant and the food was great. We stayed at the African Heritage Lodge which offers a wonderful terrace and view of the national park. Big thanks to Tanzania Horizon Safaris for an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend starting your safari journey with them!

Not far from the city, but it is like being in the wild
I suggest getting the jeep 4x4 because it is not restricted to the main road. You are more likely to see more animals, but it is still a hit or miss portion. There is a risk of getting stuck in mud, but the driver knew how to get out of it. Overall, it was a good experience.

    World's only Wildlife Capital.
Game viewing with the view of the city skyscrapers on the background is a rare sight only found in the world's wildlife capital Nairobi National park. We got to spot quite a number of wildlife among them the 3 members of the bug 5 missing out on the Elephant and Leopard which is rare to spot. Unfortunately there's no elephants in the park.

From a variety of viewing platforms, watch the orphans enjoy their bottles and gather for playtime. A senior Keeper leads the visit. Access to this visit is by advance reservation only. Third-party bookings are not valid; all bookings must be made through the SWT Nairobi Office. A separate park entry fee, payable to the Kenya Wildlife Service, also applies.
