    A Spectacular Place
The Valley of the Kings is a remarkable site of 63 uncovered tombs in which only 18 are open to the public, not all of them are open everyday. You can only go in 3 per day entry. I went here on a tour from a Nile Cruise and the tour guide explained which was the best currently open to go in. So the 3 I went in was Rameses III, Rameses I and Merenptah. Rameses III being very decorative, Rameses I being very steep and having s very decorative main room, and Merenptah my favourite which is the deepest tomb and includes the worlds largest sarcophagus. The tour guide warned us not to speak to the security at the bottom of the tomb as they will try to get money off you by telling you history if the tomb or take photos of you. The area of Valley of the Kings is fairly small and you can mostly walk around all the tombs as a lot of them are closed up and still being done up for tourism. Tutankhamun’s tomb is right in the centre and costs extra to get in, didn’t go in as we were told that it wasn’t worth it as its a small tomb with nothing inside and only one room decorated. Overall an excellent and remarkable place.

Valley of the Kings on tuk tuk!
Visiting the Valley of the Kings in Egypt was an incredible adventure! Instead of opting for a pricey guided tour, we decided to go rogue. The locals offered to take us to the valley and only let us spend 2h inside for 200EGP, but we wanted the freedom to explore at our own pace. So, we hopped on the public ferry across the Nile for just 7.50EGP per person. On the other side, we met the delightful Teiyp, a Tuk-tuk driver with a heart of gold and a great sense of humor. His phone is: +20 102 310 7495. He spent the entire day with us, shuttling us between sites. We did valley of the kings, Hatshepsut temple, valley of the queens and SETI 1 for just 300EGP plus, of course, the tip that he didn‘t even ask for. It was one of those you actually give from your heart. What's amazing about Teiyp is that he didn't rush us. He'd drop us off at the site and then pick up other clients while we explored. When we were ready to move on, a quick WhatsApp message to him, and he'd be right there waiting for us. He was funny, sweet, and incredibly honest. We can't recommend him enough for making our Valley of the Kings adventure truly glorious!

    One more wonder in Egypt
There is a Japanese designed model of the entire valley at the visitor center which is a must see. I would recommend taking a (good) guide. The entry ticket includes 3 tombs that you can get into, but doesn't include the time of King Tut. You should be aware that temperatures are close to 40 upto around November and again from March onwards. Also some tombs have quite a few steps and it is very humid inside. Overall, the experience is amazing, a must see.

Could have spent many more hours here
I did this as part of a tour. We only had 3 tombs included. They were simply stunning. When i go back I will plan several hours here to explore more of the tombs. The art and design is unique per tomb and don't end. The entire time yoir walking you are visually stimulated. Downside if a tomb is crowded, people can be very pushy, and they can also get extremely hot. At some spots the guard at the entrance sill have cardboard fans. Well worth the tip.

Shedding light in the dark tombs
Valley of the Kings is a vast area to explore the numerous archaeological findings in two sections, east and west. In planning to venture into any of the tombs a good idea is to bring your own torch. If not, you’ll probably have to “borrow” one from the locals hanging round the entrances, expect to have to hand over a sum of baksheesh for its use when you return the torch.

    Not to be missed
This is just an amazing place and something you definitely should visit when you are in Egypt. A ticket for three tombs is likely the way to go, with a separate ticket for King Tut. There are shuttles that take you to the site or you can walk. However, depending on when you visit, the walk will be quite hot, so I would do the shuttle.

    Just amazing!
Just amazing!!! Very hot and long lines to get into the tombs, but worth it. Don't let the lines of people upset you--they do move fairly quickly. If you go in a tomb that is very steep, don't be discouraged. Lots of them are easy to get into.

    Walking in History
Superb experience but would highly recommend a tour guide, ours was called Tony and He was very knowledgeable and provided lots of insight. Be prepared to deal with the market stall holders who can be a little insistent but overall a magical experience. Get there as early as you can as the heat in the afternoon can be intense.

    Highlight of Luxor
Luxor has a concentration of fabulous historical sight, this may be the highlight. The tombs of King Tut and Ramses I were the most impressive, but each one is beyond words. Try going early or late to avoid the crowds and heat. Amazing discoveries of ancient civilizations.

    Amazing
It is just an amazing feeling when you visit the Valley of the Kings. The pictures in the tombs were beyond description !!! Driving by bus to our destination was unbelievable and I find it hard to describe the landscape as it borders on moonscape. This is an extremely busy place and not got faint hearted, with the climbing etc. hopefully this will be of some help to you.
