THE 10 CLOSEST Hotels to BTS Skytrain

Hotels near BTS Skytrain

The BTS Skytrain is one of the most efficient ways of getting around Bangkok, with over 60 stations across three lines. Avoid the infamous Bangkok jam and hop on the train—it stops by loads of major tourist attractions like Chatuchak Weekend Market, Lumpini Park, ICONSIAM and the Jim Thompson House Museum. Depending on how long you'll be in Bangkok, you can get a single journey ticket, a one-day pass, and a rechargeable Rabbit stored value card. But note that the tickets and passes are not valid on the subway (MRT) or Airport Rail Link (ARL). – Tripadvisor

We used the BTS to travel to the Chatuchak weekend market. A return was about 62 baht per person, but we bought a day pass for 150 baht which gives you unlimited travel on the green line for the day. So we went from Chong nunsi station to Mo Chit station for the markets. Stopped at National Stadium for MBK mall on the way back, then back to the original station. The air rail was quite crowded and we ended up having to stand for most of the journeys but at least it was air conditioned in the humid weather and the staff working were helpful in telling you which platform you needed. I would recommend this as the traffic in Bangkok is very busy on the road. Just be careful which way you exit the station as we walked for 10 mins before realising we were going the wrong way!

BTS skytrain is fantastic. Built above the roads it allows for very quick and easy transport throughout the city - helping avoid the traffic jams that the taxis will experience. The trains are clean, cheap and not that crowded. Buying tickets from the ticket machines is easy - though having 100, 50 or 20 Baht notes will help. We didn’t seem to be able to use a credit card.

BTS Skytrain is a very easy way to get around in Bangkok. The train cars are well-cooled. The Skytrain runs frequently. During busy periods, the trains can be full/nearly full. BTS SkyTrain has daily operates from 06.00 – 24.00 hrs. BTS currently has two lines, Sukhumvit Line (Light Green Line) covering 60 stations from Khu Khot in the north to Kheha in the south east, and Silom Line (Dark Green Line) covering 13 stations in Silom and Sathon Roads.

BTS has been growing at a great pace recently. With the exception of the Gold Line, the one-day pass, which allows passengers to hop on and off at any station, has become a strong ally in town walking. We also recommend "Walking Bangkok" (published by Mediapal), a Guide with detailed maps and explanations for each station.

Very efficient and fast. Most stations I stopped at were connected to a mall or museum. Some parts have a skywalk which was so convenient during the rainy days. I also used the BTS to go to the riverside. It had a covered walkway. You don’t have to worry about the rain. My last day in Bangkok, I took the BTS to the airport. It was very easy. I highly recommend it!

Thailand bts express transportation system is the most convenient way to travel in Thailand, fast and without the hassle of the car There are several routes now But our tour of attractions such as central world, Zulu Sea World, Berry Palace, 76 Town Old Town, Taichung rice soup, terminal 21, big c, etc are all near the bts green line station so only take the express green line Very convenient Only peak times can not get in the wagon Other times are good It is now time for the Thai government to encourage more public transportation to solve the problem of air pollution. Great.

We are very familiar with train/subway systems from various countries. It was easy to take the BTS sky train from our hotel. We purchased a day-pass for 150 Baht ($4) where we were allowed to take unlimited number of trains. The only downside is it doesn’t seem to go to many if the tourist destinations, such as various temples & riverside cruise spot.

Overlooking the city, we discovered breathtaking views of skyscrapers and busy streets. It was a nice way to navigate the city while sharing crazy laughs. The comfort and speed of the train allowed us to enjoy every moment, making our exploration even more memorable.

The skytrain system in Bangkok is one of the safest cleanest easiest to access systems in the world. Probably top 5 in the world. A great option for travel during rush hours and a must take a ride as a tourist to see another reason why living in Bangkok is great

Due to heavy Bangkok traffic using the skytrain sounds like a good idea. The above the streets train system is cheap, it avoids traffic jams, the cars are pretty new and clean as well with AC. But, have in mind there are only two lines, not covering the entire city. You'll be able to use it, but mostly you'll have to combine it with walking or tuktuks which remain my fav and iconic transport option in Thailand.
