    Great views from the tower
The Saint Vitus Cathedral located in the Prague Castle grounds is a Catholic cathedral in Prague, and the seat of the Archbishop of Prague. Until 1997,it was dedicated only to Saint Vitus. It is of Gothic architecture, and is the largest church in the country. The cathedral contains the tombs of many Bohemian kings and Holy Roman Emperors. Do pay the admission fee to go to the top of the tower to see some awesome panaromic views.

    Holy Steps!
The cold, snowy weather won’t stop me from visiting Prague. This is my 5th time to visit the city and 1st time to visit the Cathedral. My brother and sister in law told me to keep walking past the cathedral and not to look back yet. They asked me to stop and turn around. Wow! Spectacular sight. I was amazed how huge and impressive this cathedral was. My sister in law and I climbed the south tower. I think it was 288 spiral steps. The view from the top was jaw dropping. Such a beautiful city. Loved every moment I was there.

The most important and largest religious building in the country
St. Vitus Cathedral is administered by both the church and the state. For the Czechs, the cathedral is a national symbol because it is where Emperor Charles V is buried. His metal sarcophagus from 1935 stands in the crypt. The cathedral is of a breathtaking size and height decorated with new stained glass windows.

    Fantastic cathedral
Really enjoyed our visit to the cathedral for the architecture, stain glass windows and wall paintings are fantastic. Get to the castle and cathedral early for it gets really busy from 11am onwards. We did the cathedral 1st before exploring the castle etc.

    Impressive structure
From a distance it looks impressive. Up close it is truly splendid. It took hundreds of years to complete but the final result is quite amazing inside and out. Huge stained glass windows that can only really be appreciated from the inside. Very impressive huge vaulted ceiling. You need to look up and around to see everything. It is a truly majestic space and should certainly be on a visit list when in Prague.

    Pleasure for the eyes
The enormous St. Vitus Cathedral is without a doubt the most spectacular building within Prague Castle. A Romanesque church, built in 926, originally stood on the site of the current church. But Emperor Charles IV (1316-1378), King of Bohemia, King of Italy and Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire since 1355, ordered its demolition in 1344. of the Romanesque church and the construction of a more impressive church, St. Vitus Cathedral (which is dedicated to three saints, namely St. Vitus, St. Wenceslaus, St. Adalbert). After the construction of the cathedral took place for several years under the direction of a French master builder, the famous Bohemian architect Peter Parler (1330-1399) took over this work (he was also the designer of the Prague Charles Bridge, the Týn Church and the Kutna Hora breathtakingly beautiful St. Barbara's Cathedral). The construction of the church took many centuries and therefore many master builders were involved. For that reason, among other things, the exterior and interior show many architectural styles... predominantly French, German and Bohemian Gothic, but also elements of Baroque and classicism. Construction was not completed until 1929, when the impressive two-tower front was finally completed. Your eyes will be blown away, both in terms of the building on the outside and all the beauty in the church!

The most beautiful cathedral in the world. Seriously.
This is REALLY the most beautiful cathedral in the whole world. It's stunning and breathtaking. The stained glass windows are incredibly impressive and beautiful. It's not the best idea, though, in my opinion, to have to pay for the entrance as it is a church where you should be allowed to pray from free. Anyway, visit it. It's a must!
