Amalienborg offers two royal experiences that let you get close to royal history through the last 250 years. In Christian VIII’s Palace the museum offers an insight into royal life past and present. You can see the private chambers of former kings and queens and, on most days, there is also admittance to the royal reception rooms (check periods at our website) from the museum. In Christian VII’s Palace you can walk in the footsteps of the royal guests, and be shown round the magnificent rooms where grand festivities are held. The Botanical Garden is a part of the Natural History Museum of Denmark. The Botanical Garden holds the largest collections of living plants in Denmark. If you are interested in botany and gardening or are just looking for an idyllic escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, the garden is a great place to relax and find inspiration. Year round it is home to a variety of exhibitions and activities, for example the Palm House, the Butterfly House and guided tours. The Botanical Garden are open Tuesday through Sunday from 8:30 AM to 4 PM in the winter, and every day from 8:30 AM to 6 PM from May through September. Visiting the Botanical Garden is free, except for the Palm House where there is an entrance fee.

Designmuseum Danmark is located in the historic Copenhagen-area, Frederiksstaden, in one of the fine old rococo buildings, originally build in 1757 by King Frederik V as the first public hospital. The museum offers exhibitions where guests can explore new perspectives on design, along with the Danish design legacy and historical collections. Don't miss the lovely museum garden with outdoor serving during the summer. There is free access to the cafe and eatery, and the museum shop.

The National Gallery of Denmark is a living museum - located in Copenhagen - with a unique collection of Danish and international art. It is the only museum in Denmark where you can enjoy a tour of 700 years of art history and also experience the nation's largest collection of Danish art from the eighteenth century to today's cutting-edge contemporary art. The museum provides guided tours, workshops for children, live performances, concerts and much more. Planetarium is Denmark's most advanced centre for popularizing astronomy and space research and promoting knowledge on natural science. The dome is the heart of the Planetarium and it is the biggest dome in Northern Europe.
