- Sherri FTucson, Arizona21 contributionsDon’t miss Van Gogh museumWonderful museum. Beautiful art and lots of fascinating information on the artist. I did not know the depth of his mental illness, it’s sad that such a brilliant artist suffered so deeply. You have to buy your tickets in advance and select a time slot, but that enables you to enjoy the the art without the museum being overcrowded.Visited August 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 3 October 2023
- SARAHP83Bristol, United Kingdom175 contributionsEmotional and iconicI don't often review such iconic attractions because it seems obvious and it is, but it's so nicely laid out and entrance well managed too, good value for money and so so moving. Merchandise in the shop was excellent, and the Pokemon cross over exhibition wall is inspired, and hilarious. Having read about Vincent, I'm sure he'd love it too. We got offered 200 euro for our tickets, any pokemon fans reading this- do book in advance!Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 3 October 2023
- Swami4 contributionsVery nice museumThis museum is such a beautiful build and is one of the best modern museums. It houses the paintings done by master artist Vincent Van Gogh and is mind-boggling. Each and every work of him has been displayed carefully, and one can appreciate the artefacts and the efforts of the museum. If one is travelling in Amsterdam, then it's a must visit place.Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 9 October 2023
- lucius cTinton Falls, New Jersey68 contributionsVan Gogh and goNot to be overlooked ! When in Amsterdam this is a must see . The art of Vincent Van Gogh still is inspiring . Some of his work is like a small child with a box of crayons . While others are awe inspiring . Beauty is in the eye …….. Worth the time to learn about an artist who gave so much . A painting a day . More to learn than look . The art lives the artist passes .Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 10 October 2023
- Elise B9 contributionsSpectacular trip to Van Gogh MuseumFortunately we reserved tickets well in advance. We had an ecstatic trip to the Van Gogh Museum. We also ate there: good coffee, bitterballen and shakshuka and mint tea with fresh mint. It is a lovely light-filled space and the paintings are beautifully displayed. To our great sorrow, we could not procure tickets to go again before we had to go home.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 11 October 2023
- KrisKnightAustin, Texas77 contributionsA Must GOGH!We knew we wanted to experience the Van Gogh museum and it did not disappoint (but if you are looking for Starry Night - she is at the MOMA in NY). Learned a great deal about Van Gogh's life, his inspirations and his struggles. Such an inspiring day! Go EARLY to avoid huge crowds and make sure you buy a ticket in advance. I highly suggest doing the self guided audio tour - so much insight and information but at your own pace! Lots of great museums to explore while in Amsterdam!Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 16 October 2023
- James SHSelkirk, United Kingdom24 contributionsA must-gogh!I was pretty impressed with this museum. The facilities are great (free lockers for your bag) and headsets included for the self-guided tour. The tour was very informative and interesting. Highly recommend booking in advance as it seems to sell out pretty quickly.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 20 October 2023
- Holidays Abroad692 contributionsA must see for art loversIf you like Van Goch then this is a must. It has a great selection of Van Goch's works along with some of his contemporaries. Make sure you book as tickets sell out quickly & maybe book an early slot as it probably won't be so crowded. Despite it being busy, there was plenty of room to see all the wonderful paintings. We did not pay for the audio, there are plenty of information signs for each exhibit. A must see for art lovers.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 20 October 2023
- CoachJDCBethesda, Maryland130 contributionsEarly time is quiet and peaceful. Look for tickets online the night beforeSnagged a ticket online the evening prior to admission…. If possible get there early in the day… opens at 9. The AV rental ( 3.5 euros) well worth it and enhances your understanding. Take about two to three hours to see it all. When busy after 1030 the museum takes on a different ambience and becomes noisy and much harder to pause and view the artwork. There are two cafes..one serving lunch Well worth the visit.Visited October 2023Travelled soloWritten 26 October 2023
- MWFMarshfield, Wisconsin52 contributionsExtensive collection of Van Gogh's WorkExcellent museum. Extensive collection of Van Gogh's work. Highly recommend buying tickets ahead of time as they were sold out on the day we went. Fortunately, we purchased our tickets a couple of months ahead.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 26 October 2023
