Intimidating on the outside, stunning on the inside
I had never seen pictures of the inside of the Palazzo Vecchio so I had no idea what was in store for me when I visited and almost didn't go! It was absolutely stunning inside - the upstairs rooms have ceilings covered in masterpieces, with each room seemingly more beautiful than the last. Well worth a visit. Lots of stairs so just take your time.

One of the best places to visit in Florence
Very good museum/palazzo! That Room of the Five Hundred alone is worth it...it's even more beautiful in person. Well organized museum with good explanations most of the time. Visit the museum/palazzo calmly and appreciate every detail, it's worth it. Also, the price is adequate for the place itself. Just don't count too much on the friendliness of the staff because it doesn't exist. They are rude, arrogant and sometimes even disrespectful. Unfortunately, typical Florentine service.

    Medici resident!
We booked our ticket on the spot. There was no queue. The tower tickets weren't available because of the weather. It was raining. We walked through many chambers at the palazzo and admired the arts and the ceiling decorations. It only takes less than an hour to finish the palazzo.

    Beautiful palazzo in Florence
I thought it would be crowded since outside and the courtyard were mobbed, but they did a great job in monitoring the crowds inside - it was not busy at all. Wee-explained in English, this museum is a tour through the power of Florence. Great architecture and history.

    Inferno inspired visit
Had to visit this as so prominent in the film Inferno. It is exactly as you expect. The artworks are stunning and view across Florence well worth the entry price. There was hardly any queue, so we didn’t need to pre-book - unusual as most other attractions were oversubscribed!

    Outstanding Palazzo Vecchio!
A wonderful guided tour inside the Palazzo Vecchio! A definite must on a visit to Florence. It was just under 1 1/2 hours but included so much information about history, the place and the Medici family. Also, included some hidden rooms not open to general public admission.

A Castle representing the Fame of the Medici
Palazzo Vecchio is indeed a beautiful historic site, both from the exterior and interior. This time round I went to visit from the outside and from the free access section. Indeed it is just a teaser of what beauty is held inside, including the huge paintings and tapestries and the visit to the clock tower with a view of Florence and the Duomo. I highly suggest that one should visit, it does not attract very huge queues to visit the exterior. You also get to view one of the David's outside.

Best of the palaces in florence
The best of the palaces we visited. Some outstanding rooms, artwork and sculptures. Whilst I'm aware it's a curated building it also left me with an impression of the past, which is what I look for in history trips. Worth going to.

    Great museum and tower
We bought Museum and Tower, for 50 euros 2 person. Good toilet facilities, and locker for free to keep your belongings. This is the heart of Florence. The Medici empire. Fantastic museum, and Tower experience. You can see everything from this tower, and it was not even crowded. we was on the top for like 10 minutes alone.

Interesting museum - best part the hall of maps
This was quite an interesting museum and we learned a bit about how renaissance Florence was run. Some areas of grandeur including a very impressive great hall. Best part was the hall of maps at the end of the tour which has maps of the known world from the renaissance period. Was really interesting and good way to finish the tour.

  • Piazzale Michelangelo Hotels
This neoclassical-style piazza built by Giuseppe Poggi in the 19th century offers some of the best panoramic views of Florence's historic center. The plaza is also home to several replicas of Michelangelo's famous sculptures, including David and the Medici Chapel statues. To get to the piazza, you'll need to climb up a steep hill, but the unobstructed views are worth it. Sunset is a popular time to visit when the plaza is bathed in golden light. You can take a taxi or car tour up the hill, or for a unique experience, pass by the piazza on a Vespa tour through Tuscany from Florence. – Tripadvisor
