An amazing museum in the setting of a stunning palace that was the residence of the Borghese family. The rooms of the Villa Borghese are as beautiful as the art inside. The highlight is the statues by Bernini located on the main floor. However, there is much more including paintings by Raphael, Caravaggio and Titian. It is mandatory to purchase a reserved entrance time in advance on-line. This allows entry for 2 hours which is just about the right time needed to appreciate everything in the museum. I booked the first reserved slot of the day at 9am. I arrived at 830am and picked up my ticket and rented an audioguide that was well worth the extra cost. I would suggest hanging out in the waiting area until a line starts forming and then jump in it. After climbing the stairs, I headed off in a direction away from the crowd. It only lasted for the first 5 minutes, but it was pretty special to have a few of the rooms and sculptures all to myself until the crowds began to spread throughout the museum.

Incredible experience. I chose to visit Galleria Borghese out of curiosity and oh boy how happy I am to have done it! The gallery is not big, but it is overwhelmingly gorgeous, the sculptures, the paintings, the walls, ceilings, the floor.... I found myself getting emotional from all this beauty! You are allowed to visit the gallery for two hours - please do not rush and use them to the max, it is really worth it. I think it is my favorite attraction in Rome.

We were without tickets, decided to come in and got into the last shift for a reduced ticket price - 8 euros. Around 4.40 p.m., we stopped by to ask if there were tickets (although there was a sold out sign at the entrance), and we were offered an hour in a separate queue. That line moved fast, wrote down our names and asked everyone who was at that last session to sit down. Then they called us to pay, we were pleasantly surprised at the reduced price. The ticket had a clear entry time of 5.45pm and the gallery closed at 7pm. Audio guide as a phone pipe, heavy, costs 5 euros, there is no Russian. Cappuccino 1.5 euros if drunk standing up. In the lobby, you have to hand in your bags backpacks if they're big.

I visited the Borghese Gallery on my trip to Rome last year and I was simply astounded by the beauty of the building, as well as the artworks on display. As I'd left it too late to book a regular ticket without clashing with my other bookings, I had to join a guided tour, so I recommend you book at least a few weeks in advance of your visit. I'm not normally a fan of guided tours as I prefer to take my own time with museums, galleries and historical sites, but the guide was truly excellent and at the end we got around 30 minutes (at least) to explore the gallery by ourselves before it closed for the day. Built in the early 17th century, the building was originally one with the surrounding gardens, but they can now be explored for free. The gallery contains many works of note, including paintings by Titian, Caravaggio, Raphael, Rubens, and other well-known painters. Its collection of sculptures includes several works by Bernini, as well as at least one work by Canova. Many of the rooms that these paintings are placed in are distinguished by lavish frescoes depicting classical subjects. I recommend you take the time to admire not just the artworks, but also the building, which is a work of art on its own.

My daughter and I bought Rome: Borghese Gallery Guided Tour with Tickets through Get Your Guide and Crown Tours. Silvia was our guide. Wow! First of all the gallery is majestic, beautiful. I had no idea about its beginnings, which are very interesting! Silvia brought the museum to life with history and stories about not just the paintings and sculptures, but about the artists as well. We really enjoyed her tour! Her pace was steady enough for everyone to keep up, and I believe it was a good value. Highly recommend taking 2 hours to dive into art history in this amazing museum with an amazing guide! 5 stars!

I made a Reservation online in advance for the designated time and took a printed-out ticket with me. Even on the day of the event, if there is an opening, you can enter. If you don't have an advance Reservation, go first thing in the morning. I went 30 minutes before the designated time, left my bags in the cloakroom and lined up at the entrance. They seemed strict about time limits, so they entered with color-coded stickers pasted over their clothes every hour. The tour lasts two hours. Photography is allowed. I was betting on a small pochette, but was warned to leave it with the staff. But as the others remained on his shoulders as well, he pointed to them and did not leave them. Considering you'll be asked to leave your pochette in a cloakroom, it's a good idea to wear a jacket with a pocket for your camera and valuables. As it is a relatively small museum, it is sufficient to take a long look around for about an hour and a half. After the tour, you can also shop at cafes and bookshops.

The Borghese Gallery is a stunning treasure trove of art, featuring masterpieces by Bernini, Caravaggio, and Raphael. The collection is beautifully displayed in an opulent setting, making it a must-visit for art lovers. However, the strict time limit for visits can feel rushed, leaving little room to fully appreciate the incredible works

We visited this Art Gallery a few days ago. Just wonderful! It is divided into two levels, one predominantly paintings and another with sculptures. One masterpiece after another. You can visit it in an hour and a half or two hours, however quotated in two hours maximum. Do not miss the masterpieces of Bernini and Canova, as well as paintings by Raphael, Leonardo, Tintoretto and Veronese. In short, real masterpieces of the highest level!

While pouring over our map of Rome and choosing several sites interesting to tourists, I noticed a location , “ Galleria Borghese.” We nothing about this museum but a little research convinced us that Galleria Borghese was a “ must see” Roman treasure. Cardinal Scipione Borghese was the world’s wealthiest person in his time. He used his wealth to build the world’s first private museum. The museum is filled with priceless sculptures and paintings. Scipione’s favorite artists were Gian Lorenzo Bernini, sculptures, and Caravaggio and many of their most famous works are displayed. One doesn’t have to be an art historian to enjoy the museum. Displays are explained and audio guides are available. We stood within inches of priceless works of art that we studied in art history classes! The rooms, walls, ceilings and even the floors are similarly decorated. Experiencing Galleria Borghese in itself would make a trip to Rome worth the expense. I suppose that makes us fans!

One of the most incredible museums of Rome. Inside this beautiful villa surrounded by a spacious garden, you find incredible paintings, sculptures, mosaics and more. The former cardinal Borghese has collected these priceless pieces of art. As the galleria is highly popular, entrance requires a reservation well beforehand. In addition, the organization and condition of this museum are by far among the best I have come to see in Italy. A Must See.
