Located in the heart of Rome, this vibrant and elegant square is surrounded by 18th-century buildings augmented by the colorful flowers that adorn the Spanish Steps. The elegant steps by Francesco de Sanctis (1723-1726) consist of twelve flights of varying width, which descend to the scenic Franciscan Church of Trinita dei Monti.

Busy, not particularly beautiful, but able to experience a beautiful sunset.
Stairs were busy with young people taking selfies and filming couples. Not a particularly impressive whole. The city of Rome was clearly visible from above, including a setting sun. (So at the end of the afternoon) You must have been there but that's about it.

    Worth a visit
I have visited it twice, always overcrowded of course, atmosphere was great both times. I think its worth a visit no matter what. Take some photos, pop into the sweet shops nearby and just relax on the steps.

    MAJESTIC STAIRCASE
Getting to this famous square is one of the must-see places in Rome. The majestic staircase can be seen from afar. There are 135 marble steps built in 1725, which reach the Trinità dei Monti Church. We saw her so many times during the parades that were held that being able to meet her was something I wanted. From the top you can have some very nice photos.

    Quaint steps. Come early
We were here about 8am. No one was there, no scammers, no crowds. We could enjoy the steps which were built 1723-26 to link the square to the church. There are 3 terraces for the holy trinity. I know they are just steps, but the church on the top is pretty. Very close to the Metro Spagns stop. Not a must see, but nice in my opinion.

    Unforgettable view
Rome is rich in iconic sites, which earn five point ratings with ease. The Spanish Steps is one of those sites. The unforgettable view up, from Piazza di Spagna, crowned by the Trinità del Monte Church and the stunning view from above over the Roman skyline are unique in the world. As I mentioned, an easy five point rating and not to be missed, even on a short Rome stop over.

Nice views, cool land mark and very busy
The Spanish steps was a cool landmark to visit. We didn’t take the steps we used the elevator to the left of the steps inside the Metro. The views were very nice but this location was really busy at all hours of the day

    Nice but extremely crowded
This area like Trevi fountain and many others was so busy it spoiled it in a way. You felt really rushed to get down the steps and so many people meant it was hard to take any pictures. Nice to visit but way better places in Rome to visit.

    Worth a visit or two
We went there twice. One at night for pics with the church, column, and steps. Second time for the same purpose during the day (when banning for sitting on the steps was diligently enforced) plus shopping at the luxurious Italian and French designer brands. The gelato shop "Don Nino" by the fountain was expensive but it was superb that we had twice on both visits. The dinner at the "Mignanelli 24" by the square was nice and reasonably priced. We ordered pastas and a pizza.

Not worth a visit unless you have a lot of time
After seeing the Spanish steps, I don't really understand why people want to see them. They were cool, but they weren't amazing. It was just a big staircase, which was interesting but at the same time there wasn't much to do. It wasn't as cool as other landmarks that you can visit nearby such as the Trevi Fountain.

Landmark staircase at Piazza di Spagna
This is an iconic landmark staircase in the city of Rome and popular place for tourist visitors at Piazza di Spagna. What you find is a set of 135 steps that climb 29 metres up to Church of Trinita dei Monti. The staircase you see today was constructed in 1725. During warmer months it is adorned with flowering pots and makes for beautiful setting to take photographs. At its bottom, you will find a peculiar Fontana della Barcaccia. From there you can view upwards, taking in the Spanish Steps, church as well as the Sallustiano Obelisk which is also at the top of the staircase.
