A beautiful square with fabulous fountains and statues and with numerous restaurants bordering the piazza. Vendors offer paintings of many of the Italy’s famous sites, sundry items of clothing plus more. It is one of the busiest piazzas in Rome - it is often difficult to get a table for lunch so I recommend getting there early. The best time to take photographs is early to mid morning.

Is Piazza Navona the best square in the world? When I step onto Piazza Navona I tend to answer the question with a resounding yes, despite the large crowds of tourists and the high priced bars and restaurants lining the square. Yes, Piazza Navona has sharp competition from Piazza del Campo in Siena or Piazza San Marco in Venice, but the rich history, with Bernini's masterpieces, and the outline of the piazza makes it a winner.

The square is lovely. It has fantastic restaurants on either side that you can eat at as well as a lovely church and three fountains within an oval obelisk in the center. There are some fantastic artists as well that was selling their work here, mainly paintings which were a great quality and very unique. I will say that there was a lot of people who tried to put bracelets on my hand as a sign of friendship and then ask for money after they had placed it on there so be aware of these people.

Even for those with very limited time in Rome, Piazza Navona is a must. This is one of the best piazzas to visit in Rome. You can see a lot here in a short time. There are three monumental fountains, two of which (Fountain of the Moor and The Fountain of Four Rivers) were designed by Bernini. Whole walking tours are designed around seeing Bernini’s work in Rome and you can see two Bernini fountains here in the one piazza. There are always street entertainers and ‘living statues’ - always fun for the kids. Being a tourist spot, you do have to put up with hawkers who will try to press their goods onto you. The piazza is surrounded by cafes and restaurants although we prefer to go down one of the side streets and find something a little removed from the heaving tourist zone. Just around the corner from the Fountain of the Moor is a great little wine bar, Cul-de-Sac and opposite it is one of our favourite small restaurants, Mimi e Coco. A highlight of our time in Rome was going to a classical concert at the beautiful Baroque Church of Sant’Agnese in Agone. It was held in the small Borromini Sacristy which you don’t normally get access to. I have occasionally seen free concerts offered at the church but this one was ticketed and we were able to buy tickets at the door.

The remarkable skill and artistry showcased in the city's fountains and squares is truly mesmerizing. The Piazza is particularly spectacular, offering a breathtaking sight. I recommend visiting during the day to fully appreciate their beauty, but don't miss the chance to return in the evenings for a completely different atmosphere and experience.

In my opinion one of the most beautiful squares in Rome, absolutely not to be missed and with monumental works of great importance, too bad that in September 2024, in view of the jubilee next year, they are all closed for restoration. You can only see them from small transparent cracks behind a tarp. However, the square is also beautiful for the Basilica of Sant'Agnese on one side and for its so intimate and intimate shape. Recommendation to everyone not to miss it if you are in Rome

Piazza Navona is one of the most magnificent squares in Rome mainly due to the incredible fountains located there and the spectacular Braschi Palace, which is currently the site of the Museum of Rome. The most impressive fountain in the square is the Fountain of the Four Rivers created by Bernini in the 17th century, the four rivers being the Ganges, the Nile, Donau and Rio de la Plata. The tall obelisk on the fountain was originally located in the Circus Maximus, one of the largest popular entertainment venues in antiquity. The piazza also has two smaller fountains known as the Fountain of the Moor and the Fountain of Neptune. The piazza is usually quite busy but it's not nearly as crowded as the Trevi Fountain, so you can easily take some great photos of the fountains before you move on to the highlights of any trip to Rome such as the Colosseum, the Pantheon and the Vatican Museums.

Piazza Navona in Rome is absolutely breathtaking and deserves every bit of a five-star review! The moment we stepped into the square, we were captivated by its stunning Baroque architecture and vibrant atmosphere. The fountains, especially Bernini's Fountain of the Four Rivers, are masterpieces that add to the square's charm and beauty. Street artists, cafes, and the lively buzz of people make it the perfect spot to soak in the essence of Rome. We spent hours just strolling around, enjoying gelato, and taking in the history that surrounds you at every turn. Piazza Navona is truly a must-visit when in Rome!

Piazza Navona is a gem of Rome, and our guided tour was amazing. We discovered its origin in the old Stadium of Domitian and admired the Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi de Bernini, a masterpiece of the Baroque. We also visited the Church of Saint Agnes in Agony, with its impressive architecture. The atmosphere was vibrant, with street performers and lively terraces. The guide recommended us to try Tre Scalini's tartufo, a delight. In short, an essential experience in Rome.

Early morning stop by Piazza Navona. On this sunny Friday morning, it was pretty quiet. A few people out and about taking photos. Others sitting on benches. It's a beautiful piazza, one of Rome's great attractions featuring three fountains: Bernini's Four Rivers Fountain with an obelisk in the center, and two smaller fountains, Neptune and Moro, at either end. There is also a 17th century church Sant'Agnese in Agone. Later in the day, the piazza is filled with people and a marketplace. There are nearby restaurants to get a drink and sit for a while.
