We really enjoyed this museum. It at times is actually overwhelming as we only had a couple hours to explore and there are so many rooms. The maps of the building though are confusing so sometimes you think you have been in an area and low and behold it's new! Absolutely loved the Dali and Picasso collections!

We had a wonderful 4 hrs touring this museum. The art works from the many famous Spanish artist such as Picasso, Dali, Miro is amazing. Make sure you have good walking shoes as the museum is huge. As seniors we got in free. There is a 2 he free period in the evening but when we came out the queues were long so I suggest you pay the 12 E if you want time to enjoy viewing the paintings.

Went to see the modern art and didn’t get disappointed. We had good space to see the Picassos, Dalis and what else was there. Not much information on site though. Will be happy to return with a guide a some point.

Great museum in the middle of Madrid near Atocha train station. It has a good mix of modern and classics like Picasso, Dali, Miro, etc. It is a huge museum so you need at least 2-3 hours to see everything. Don’t go here when you’re in a rush - you won’t enjoy it. Take your sweet time walking around as it is massive. Don’t miss their terrace all the way up. Nice to take a break there from all the walking and get some fresh air.

Sorry to hear visitors’ line experience tainted their visits to the most important 20th century art museum in Spain. I bought tickets directly online from the museum and arrived 20 minutes early on a Saturday and was at the front of the ticket holder’s line. I wanted to make sure I was one of the first ones in to be able to enjoy the museum before the crowds arrived. My other motive for early arrival was so that I could go directly to Picasso’s masterpiece, Guernica. I’ve been to the museum many times over the years but the Museum’s decision to allow personal photography opened up the ability to take a picture of one of the world’s best, most famous and consequential work of art…eclipsing any painting at the Prado, Louvre or MET. THANK YOU!!! The painting transcends time and resonates even today. Additionally I was able to take photo “memories” of other great masterpieces. There was also an exhibition titled “Non-Conformity” by a 20th century American artist, Ben Shahn that skillfully chronicles various resistant movements to the ills of the 20th century. A well-timed and moving exhibition. WELL worth a visit and considerable value for money!

The building itself is quite nice and has a beautiful almost empty inner courtyard with many benches and some sculptures. The main attraction is Picasso’s Guernica but there are numerous other works by Picasso, Salvador Dali, Joan Miro and Calder. They had a temporary Picasso exhibit which was wonderful. Well worth a visit

This modern art museum was enormous, and truly special. Its masterpiece, Guernica, was so moving, and its special exhibition on the life's work of Ben Shahn, was truly wonderful too. We would definitely return

Went during the free hours 7-9pm on a Saturday night. Arrived at 6:55 and got in by 7:25. This felt like plenty of time to tour the main exhibitions on the second floor. A little crowded but worth it to me to save the entry fee. You also get into the young Picasso exhibition for free. I enjoyed seeing the Dali paintings and Guernica of course.

Top notch museum with as many Picassos, Dalis and Miros as one wishes for, amongst other great art. Seeing Guernica was our highlight as I experienced t it is for most visitors. Highly recommended. Do also visit their amazing cafe Nubel (see my review on it).
