    Unmissable wonder
An unmissable place that deserves a good half day. Buy tickets months in advance because, at least for the Nasrid Palace, entry is limited and, contrary to what I remembered, Granada is a city always full of tourists, even in unusual months. Compared to the main access, for which you don't need a ticket, the paid part is a 15-minute walk uphill. A good walk, but it must be calculated compared to the time of the ticket reservation. Then also at the time of access you must show your ticket and ALWAYS your document, so you need to arrive much earlier. For the rest it is beautiful, with not many indications but there are staff everywhere, who also check that nothing has been tampered with.

    Must See in Spain
"On the fourth day, we took a train to Granada to visit the Alhambra. Alhambra, which means ‘Red City’ in Arabic, was built in the 13th and 14th centuries by the last Moorish rulers. It was the last Moorish capital to fall, marking the end of Islamic rule on the Spanish peninsula. The last Moorish rulers were the Nasrids, who held power in Andalusia for 500 years, even 200 years longer than Seville. Granada was the last to fall, and with it, Islam disappeared from the Spanish peninsula. However, Granada is the only Islamic capital that remains largely unchanged to this day, just as it was during Nasrid's rule. We were particularly drawn to the endless olive groves on our way through the Andalusian countryside to Granada. Kilometres and kilometres of hills and valleys were covered in perfectly arranged olive trees. I had never seen so many olives in my life. Unfortunately, I managed to take only one photo, which isn’t of the best resolution. Upon arriving in Granada, we switched to a bus and climbed up to the Alhambra. Alhambra is situated on a hill, and the road there is quite steep, so tourists usually use some form of transportation to reach it. I must mention that Alhambra tickets must be purchased online, as they tend to sell out even more than a month in advance. The difference between Alhambra and Alcazar is that Alhambra mostly preserves buildings from the Moorish period, and most decorations are original. Part of Alhambra was destroyed during Napoleon’s invasion, and another part was damaged by an earthquake that hit the area. Christian conquerors left it largely untouched because it represented the fall of Moorish civilization in that region. Spaniards have largely restored it recently, making it look authentic and grand. A true paradise on Earth. Its size is like that of a small town and includes royal chambers, courtyards, mosques, craft centers, hammams, gardens, parks, and much more."

    Granada must-see
A must visit if you come to Granada. Ticket to be reserved in advance. Take the ticket with the visit to the Nasrid palace which is the most beautiful place in the Alhambra. This palace is exceptionally beautiful and rich in mosaics. Beautiful gardens. Beautiful views. A must do!

    Avoid Rain Days
Unfortunately we reserved tickets months ago and chose a cold rainy day to visit. Tickets are non refundable nor can you change dates or times. Despite the cold temps, we managed to see much of the Alhambra area. The Nasrid palace was pretty spectacular. There were no lines to wait once we had out tickets. Don’t fall for extra costs to “avoid the lines”. You get an entrance time and you must be there within a half hour window or you miss entry into the Nasrid palace. You can wander the entire area before and after that. Bring your passport, ours were checked at three separate locations along with tickets. Tickets have your passport number on them. Taxis to the the Alhambra from center city will run about 9 Euros. On the way back we found a bus to center city for 1.4 euros . Buses run every 10 minutes up and down. Our hotel was only 600 meters away.

The highlight of Granada by day and night.
The Alhambra is definitely the highlight of a visit to Granada. It is worth visiting during the day as well as at night (we went there twice). You should definitely book tickets online in advance. From the old town, you can reach the Alhambra easily and affordably by taxi.

    Beautiful sight and engineering marvel
We came here with our 10 day group tour of Spain in early March. Though it was a bright sunny day, I did not wear the right shirt and jacket to be on top of a mountain. I purchased a sweat shirt in the gift shop. Prepare for a lot of walking, wear sturdy shoes, uphill, down hill, through gardens, in and out of the building. Plenty of areas to rest and take photos. You need a good guide to lead you through and describe what you see.

    To do of course
A must-do in Granada. You must book well in advance, even in low season. Access by car is easy and well signposted. The parking lots are close to the entrance. There was room, but it was January. To see in high season. The organization of the visits (access, information) is very good. The place itself (buildings, gardens) is obviously worth it. It was January but there were still a lot of people. I wonder what it's like in high season.

A must see wonder of the world
What a stunning place. We spent around 4 hours visiting the whole place - the alcazaba, royal Palace and generalife gardens. Book your timed slot first thing at Royal Palace and then visit the rest at your leisure. Take your own headphones for free audio guide via QR code (or you can just read the info on your phone too). Nice not to have to pay extra for this. Absolutely sensational and beautiful and worth taking your time in.

    Magical
Amazing !!! And walk through its mountains! And seeing the Sierra Nevada is... Everything, magical. The tour includes a QR with an explanation of the most relevant information and it is worth getting information beforehand to appreciate, to know why and how the Arabs coexisted with nature, their ideological and philosophical issues, etc. What a place!

  • Royal Chapel of Granada Hotels
The Chapel of the Catholic Kings was conceived as a burial site intimately linked to the Cathedral, but without merging with its architecture. It is built with a single nave, an octagonal presbytery preceded by bleachers, a transept with little development and a choir at its feet, for the functions of a pantheon. As a funeral chapel none, in Spain, it excels in size. In it you can appreciate both its simplicity and its wealth thanks to the generous endowment of the queen. The Royal Chapel houses the mortal remains of Don Fernando de Aragón and Dona Isabel de Castilla (who were initially resting in the convent of San Francisco de la Alhambra), as well as those of Dona Juana I, Don Felipe and Infante Miguel. Under the tombs there is a small crypt of marked austerity, in which are deposited the real, lead coffins, identified by the initial of each name on the cover.
