"My preferred area to stay is the west or north-west side of the medina. Easy access to the souks, cafes around Djemma El Fna and also new area of Gueliz. And it’s the right side of town for the airport."

"When I did in Morocco, at the sand dunes back in May, it was better than the first time in Egypt. The main reason was the camels were a lot smaller so nowhere near as much jerking when they stood up or kneeled down. That being said, I still didn't find it an enjoyable experience. On my tour we had two opportunities - sunset and sunrise. I chose to walk in the morning beside the camels and enjoyed it a lot more. They go slow (as they are being led by someone else walking). The others in my group thought I was crazy to pass on the chance to ride a camel but I had had enough the first day. If the camel ride is an included activity, I would suggest walking beside the camels and getting your pictures that way."
