Montmartre Hotels
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colours, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime SacrΓ©-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. Itβs a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that canβt be found anywhere else.

- ClaireBarr67Devon, United Kingdom111 contributionsGreat part of Paris to stay or visit. We stayed in Montemartre as we did Paris centre a few years ago and wanted an alternative Paris this time. Montmartre delivers! Fabulous area to wander with lovely little streets, cafes and shops as well as some great sightseeing. Has more of a village feel but is a busy little hub of activity. Perfect for a Paris stay.Visited February 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 26 February 2024
- NorthStar448901896492 contributionsA picturesque areaWe rented an apartment in the Montmartre area via Airbnb. Located in the 18th arrondissement in northern Paris. Be aware, the area has narrow and rather steep streets up to the Basilica of La Sacr-Coeur. The area itself is very picturesque. With many cozy smaller neighborhood restaurants. The view from the basilica over Paris is magnificent! We used the metro to explore Paris. Worked great. Easy to buy tickets. We started from a Metro station called Pigalle.Visited March 2024Travelled with familyWritten 3 April 2024
- LekaPristina, Kosovo286 contributionsCobblestone streetsMontmartre is a charming and picturesque neighborhood in Paris, famous for its artistic history, bohemian atmosphere, and stunning views of the city. Visitors can wander through narrow cobblestone streets, visit quaint cafes, and explore bustling squares filled with street artists and performers. Moulin Rouge cannot be avoided.Visited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 16 April 2024
- Kenneth G2 contributionsGreat view!!!A must for visitors! Alot of stairs to climb but worth the climb! The church is great and if you wanna pay the 8e to go all the way to the top its well worth it. To get in the church is free and the views of the city are astounding!!Visited April 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 30 April 2024
- Anto200013Trieste, Italy2,209 contributions"Montmartre: is losing its bohemian face"Montmartre has become very commercial, in some areas it resembles a large booth where they sell souvenirs and other products mostly "made in China". The small shops of the past have disappeared. Especially in the famous little square, most of the painters are of poor quality. I remember it in the year 2000 with a very lively bohemian charm, but now it is losing its face. However, if you enter the streets, far from mass tourism, there are still very fascinating views, houses, gardens and the famous stairs.Visited March 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 7 May 2024
- BRLAAdventurer188 contributionsCharming and beautiful must see in Paris!Charming and beautiful must see in Paris! The Basilica of SacrΓ© Coeur de Montmartre is very large and beautiful. The panoramic view of Paris from the steps is exceptional. The artists and vibe of the area great. Easy to get to from central Paris.Visited April 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 7 May 2024
- Amalia MThessaloniki, Greece117 contributionsWonderful church but too many people.I had visited the area with the wonderful church several years ago. It wasn't that crowded and it was really pretty. This time it was so crowded that we could hardly climb the steps. It also had no painters in the cafe area, and I generally expected to see what I remembered. However, it is worth visiting the area for the church, the view of Paris and the atmosphere in general.Visited May 2024Travelled with familyWritten 19 May 2024
- MiguelMarratxi, Spain498 contributionsAmazing!!!!Awesome!!!. A must-see place if you are in Paris. Walk through its authentic streets until you reach the top and see that spectacular white monument. It is worth the walk to the top on foot. There is also a funicular that leaves at the foot of the chapel. It is typical to put a padlock on one of its railings. I leave with good memories of this place.Visited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 20 May 2024
- Michelle NMelbourne, Australia538 contributionsFavourite part of ParisAbsolutely stunning area. Enjoyed a French onion soup and wine at Le Cafe deux Moulins, where Amelie was filmed. The views from Sacre Coeur over Paris were amazing. The Place du Tertre was also beautiful. Lots of amazing artists around. Highly recommend walking around this area, especially if youβre short on time in ParisVisited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 9 June 2024
- Denise WShawnee, Kansas23 contributionsFavorite area in ParisOne of my favorite areas of Paris! Go early. Grab a coffee at The Beans on Fire and take a picture in the cute photo booth just down the block before you walk up the hill. When you get up to the artist Square, enjoy all the awesome art, grab a crΓͺpe and do some shopping. Don't forget to head over to Sacre Coeur Basilia. Get a pic, sit on the stairs, and definitely go inside!Visited June 2024Travelled with familyWritten 12 June 2024

- Tour Eiffel / Invalides HotelsWith the Eiffel Tower at its core, the Invalides area of Paris is guaranteed to impress. Golden towers and Baron Haussmann's urban vision meet military precision, stretching avenues, and luscious lawns. The area boasts the MusΓ©e DβOrsay, the tomb of Napoleon, the National Parliament and UNESCO, as well as luxurious, exclusive residences. In fine restaurants and at the weekend markets, families, diplomats, and politicians brush shoulders with the tourists who come to see this postcard-perfect area for themselves.Read more
- OpΓ©ra / Bourse HotelsThe neighbourhood around OpΓ©ra and Bourse is a belle Γ©poque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.Read more
