There are no words to describe the magic of this place, one shall go and stay there as long as possible to experience the healing powers of nature, people and ancient knowledge of ayurveda. all the staff was extremely attentive and caring, food was amazing, yoga with Rakesh was such an amazing experience...and the place radiates so much love... i definitely miss the place and want to come back soon! So grateful for all I felt and learned there
It was a fantastic experience at Udayagiri Ayurvedic Center. I loved the location. The center is settled on the top on the mountain in Northern Kerala, very close to a National Park. It's peaceful and quiet, with lots of plants, trees, monkeys, birds and wildlife. There are also a few cows and goats. Very good energy around! The room we stayed at had everything you need. Comfortable bed with mosquito net, balcony with spectacular view, bathroom, shower with warm water, candles, insence etc. The daily schedule was very interesting, with poojas, yoga sessions, Ayurvedic treatments and meals. Food was just spectacular. Everything grown on their organic farms and cooked by talented chefs with lots of love. 3 vegetarian meals a day, wide variety and everything was so delicious. Best food during my stay in India and definitely the healthiest one. Made me feel so good! Ayurvedic treatments were great, I really enjoyed massages with oils and I have a feeling that although I stayed there for only 6 days, my body largely benefited from them. The longer you stay the better, and I see why, I would love to come back one day and spend at least 2 weeks there. My favourite part of the stay were yoga classes. Special thanks to Rakesh, who turned out to be the best and the most inspiring yoga instructor I have ever had. His classes were amazing, involved movement, meditation, pranayama and chanting. Powerful experience. Rakesh is such a talented instructor and great human being. He really pushed my limits and took me to another level of my yoga journey. He also is an amazing host. Always making sure that you have what you need and makes you feel like home. On my last day I had an honor to meet the founder and owner of the retreat. He came to visit and we ended up having a very nice conversation about life, ayurveda, India, modern world and spirituality. All the people who are involved in running this center are very welcoming, kind and polite. Truly beautiful place. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for refreshment and inspiration to implement positive changes in their lifestyle and improve their health. I truly hope to return one day. Thank you very much to all the staff. Namaste! …
I’ve just spent 22 remarkable days at Udayagiri - on the recommendation of a friend in England It offered me the opportunity and support to begin an inspirational journey of healing from an auto immune condition . The conventional treatments offered by doctors in France and London were only to tackle the symptoms not treat the route cause and to take long term drugs with harmful side effects . I was disillusioned and lacking trust and knew I wanted to find a holistic approach in order to heal naturally Udayagiri’s environment is unique - situated high up in the mountains surrounded by beautiful unspoilt forests and incredible wildlife . The sounds of the birds are magical and the views from the cottage balconies looking down to the valley below stunning . It feels so peaceful and uplifting . The staff are wonderful - I felt so nurtured and cared for during my stay . So much loving kindness and support by everyone there There were so many different factors that contributed to this place of rejuvenation and healing - All the treatments were very beneficial and undertaken with much care and professionalism I loved the early morning poojas and the yoga practises held at different times during the day. There is a resident Ayurvedic doctor who we all see daily He advises and supports each individual with their own treatment and care plan. I was also under the senior doctor at the main hospital who gave me such calm reassurance of recovery The food is all cooked freshly from the produce grown at the Centre’s wonderful Organic farms . The beautiful Gir breed of cows provide milk for making the ghee . Everything was plentiful and utterly delicious . The kitchen staff all so willing and kind hearted . The rooms in the wooden cottages are charming and good sized but fairly basic and very clean with everything needed including hot water I feel enormous gratitude for the time I’ve just spent at Udayagiri . My health and sense of well being has benefited considerably and I plan to return early next year…
I had the chance to spend 5 days in Udayagiri. I wanted to find an authentic place to do my first Ayurvedic experience. And it was even better than I had expected. I felt so welcomed all the way long. The place is stunning and peaceful. Rooms are spacious and comfy with a beautiful view from the balcony. Staffs are so lovely, trully kind and professional. The meals served were so tasty and delicious. All the process are home made and came from their organic farm. Massages, Yoga, Pooja… everything here is just the perfect balance to find peace and a feeling of serenity. Thank you so much to all the team, especially for the ceremony for our birthday. I was sincerely moved and I’m not gonna forget turning 26. People here make the difference, big part of the reason why this place is so magic. I wish you all the best, from the bottom of my heart. I was blessed enough to be there in Udayagiri for 10days retreat. This centre is a peaceful heaven.I have learned lot from this retreat.Everything is done with best motivation. There r many things that made my stay incredible. The mountain settings itself makes our mind very calm and peace, connected to the nature more. The food, consulting with the Doctor ,caring therapist, yoga, pooja all these makes our mind very relaxed.
We spent 28 days in Udayagiri retreat center doing a full panchakarma. It was our 1st time and we loved it. All the treatments and massages were very well performed. All the activities (yoga, pouja, ... ) were top with excellent teacher and people. The ayuvedic food and way of life was just amazing, and all the people were very kind and cautious for us, especially during the hardest treatment. Lastly, we have really appreciated the two doctors, their full explanation and disponibilité every days. In summary, we had a wonderful time in Udayagiri, a timing just perfect to face the Sars-CoV2 pandemics in great health and spirit. Cathy & Jean-Yves
I had already been at udayagiri and came back for a full Panchakarma as they are very professional and serious. They also allie the spiritual side of it with prayers, pranayama sessions, kalari, yoga sessions.. The food is vegetarian of course and adapted to your recommended diet. The setting is fantastic, in the midst of nature surrounded by its magical sound. All the staff is very helpful and kind, feels a bit like your family 😉 A place I highly recommend and where I will surely come back! Thank you Udayagiri for everything!
Having my self a center in France, I have a specific eye on this center. Nothing to say about the treatements, food and yogas. The traditionnal vue of ayurveda are respected. The enviremment is beautiful. In the hills near the jungle. The rooms are perfect. One thing to say, for people who hase bad leggs, there are many stepps. Any place you go , it clims....
I travelled to Udayagiri on a cold February Scottish day not knowing much about what I was heading towards and going on a friend’s recommendation. I didn’t want to go with preconceptions so purposely did not do much research before going. I knew I needed a reset in life being overweight, post menopausal, recently separated, children at University and generally depressed and unhappy in myself. At Udayagiri I found a lot of answers and after 26 days came home a lighter, happier, more balanced person. It was a journey which tested you in many ways as the treatments are full on. You have to go with a positive attitude and embrace all that is suggested and enjoy the genuine care and compassion from all the staff. Remember that it is India and that not all goes to plan. It is all part of the experience and I highly recommend it.…
Being passionate about yoga / Ayurveda I took a group of women to experience a stay for a week in Udayagiri. There is an honest integrity which these days is hard to find . When you do it touches your soul. The care and love we received by all the staff and immersing ourselves in the Ayurvedic way of living was magical. I highly support all the team at Udayagiri for creating such a beautiful space for one’s journey towards the ‘SELF’
