Dressed as Spider-Man, my son kicked a football to breakfast, jumped on a horse for a race, rode a camel to the river, caught some freshwater crabs on a home made crabbing line, fought a Maasai warrior with jiu-jitsu sticks, had a picnic in the bush and came back to shed his disguise for a jump in the pool with... 6th African country and second time in Kenya - expectations were high. On the way from the airstrip, our guide positioned the vehicle in such a way that a small herd of elephant walked within touching distance of our vehicle - this was a sign of things to come: excellence all round. We were staying in room 10 for 5... More

Lewa is a beautiful conservancy that is well run, benefiting the wildlife and visitors alike. I was able to see the 'Big 5' plus many many other beautiful animals up close in their natural environment. And the holiday was made even more magical by staying at Wilderness. The room, and modern and comfortable but still maintain an African feel with... More

I don't know where to begin with my praise for Lewa Wilderness. From the moment that we set foot in the conservancy, even before we got to the lodge, the magic started. On our drive from the gate (or airstrip if you are flying in) to the lodge we encountered a multitude of game, including most of the Big 5.... More

We loved this charming and luxurious family-run lodge. We enjoyed sharing our comfortable cottage with a colony of rock hyrax. Every time we left the cottage, we encountered the resident impala on our way to another wonderful meal or exciting game ride. We saw lots of animals including many endangered black rhinos, white rhinos and Grevy zebras. The highlights included... More

Dear Richard P, Thank you for your lovely review of our lodge. We seem to have gathered a good amount of wildlife in the garden, including Dave, the giraffe, our male impala (who still needs naming, if you have any suggestions!), and the countless dik diks, so game viewing begins before you even leave the lodge! Seeing the aardvark on... More

The black and white rhinos were magnificent! The service, environment, comfort level were superb! Home in the wilderness away from home in the city!
