Pros - breakfast looked good, friendly staff, clean. Cons - paper thin walls and heavy slamming doors. I was subjected to LOUD “interactions” akin to woodpecking, slamming and endless moaning. I am far from vanilla and appreciate enthusiasm but when it sounded and felt like a chair was coming through my wall, enough was enough. I asked to be moved just after midnight, not possible as hotel was full bit a move would have been possible the next day. The party in question couldn’t be moved as they were a “long stay worker”. Ummm ok. With ear plugs in and the fan on I did manage some sleep until the incessant repeated slamming of doors started at 6am. This hotel was madness!! I was not expecting a Holiday Inn but was expecting a Super8/ Days Inn equivalent and this was not it. My husband felt I should have refused payment but I just wanted out and was super thankful to find a lovely Air bnb nearby. Do your research, explore your options, leave this place for the “long stay workers” or hockey tournaments.…
This was my first trip back to Nova Scotia since I was 7 years old! The people at this hotel were very friendly, professional and wanted to hear about my daily adventures while staying at the hotel! As well, they gave me several ideas on where to visit while staying! Thank you so much! Hopefully I will have to opportunity to visit again!!
Soooo close to 5 star! Important to note that I don’t compare a Slumber Inn to a Ritz Carlton…. that just wouldn’t be fair. So, this isn’t a luxury hotel but I loved it! It was clean! My bed was DREAMY comfortable…. so much so so that I tore the bedding apart to find the brand name ( Beautyrest). I had a large desk with a great amount of work space, great lighting and a big window. If you like to see the comings and goings of guests, ask for a room in the front! It was quiet, had air conditioning and amazing water pressure in a great size shower. My room smelled clean and the hallways were filled with aroma from their 24 hour coffee station that had coffee, capichino, French Vanilla coffee, Mochachino( and a bunch of other “inos”. Breakfast was basic scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, bacon, bagels, toast, waffles, Oikus Yogurt, Cereal…. certainly something for everyone! I enjoyed my room… it was perfect for one person on business. ( one queen) So why the loss of one star? I anticipate a warm friendly welcome from hotel staff when I walk in. It is very important to me. The young girl ( who looked like maybe she was being trained) was very sweet and friendly and welcomed me with a beautiful sweet smile. The older lady training her ( or watching over her) did not speak one word to me. She didn’t smile ( in fact quite the opposite) so it was a let down. I didn’t see her again until checking out…. and again she didn’t smile or speak UNTIL I mentioned to the young girl that I would be putting how dreamy my bed was in my Trip Advisor review. THEN she was much more friendly…… but, it was too late to get that 5th star. I don’t like writing this as I don’t want anyone to get in trouble… I just think people should be aware of how important it is to be friendly. The rest of the staff were very friendly and I would highly recommend staying here. You can drive 3 minutes down one road and find walmart, grocery, gas, everything you need! Very Happy with my stay!! Note- this was a pet friendly. The only reason I knew was because I heard a dog bark once and it stopped instantly. There was no smell of animals!…
This hotel is right off the highway and in a good location for travellers. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and well appointed. The bed was extremely comfortable. There seemed to be a lot of people staying there on a permanent basis. The only negative comment would be that there was a kitchen on the main floor. There were numerous workers cooking in there and the smell was somewhat off-putting. Would suggest that they keep the door closed and windows open when cooking. Breakfast was provided and there was lots of variety for everyone.
Hubby and i go every year to the valley drive in, we do an overnight cause of the driving home in the dark. I chose the Slumber Inn cause it was the closest to the drive in. We arrived around 230, went to check in and the lady that checked us in went above and beyond, was super friendly and very funny. She had me laughing for sure. The room was very clean, had a fridge, microwave and coffee maker with coffee. Bathroom was clean . Only compliant was the ac, had it going high as it would go, to us didnt seem like it was cooling off, a little but still found it warm. Breakfast was included with our stay. Went to see what they had the 2 very nice young ladies said to sit and they would bring us our food. They had boiled and scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, pastries, coffee and condiments. The nice young lady took our orders and brought us our food. Lets just say didnt leave hungry. I highly recommend this place to stay, its close to the Big Stop, in case u are super hungry, lol. …
Had a great stay! Short but sweet. There for a wedding and the front desk agent Sagar was exceptionally patient and kind. We had been golfing and were looking to check in early but they were sold out and I called a ‘few’ times to see how the rooms were turning over. He didn’t mind!! Thanks to Patricia McQuillan for assisting with our reservation as well. All in all - excellent customer service!
Good price, comfy beds, clean, and the staff are very friendly. I will definitely be a re-turning guest. From as soon as we entered a friendly handsome younger man welcomed us, he was so kind, he helped my Aunt with her bags up the steps. Breakfast was delicious, and we were all full leaving for the morning.
First I would like to warn guests about making a reservation. I wanted to call the hotel directly but there was no phone number except for a 1-800 number of which I found out when I arrived that the number was for reservation @reservation.com of which they automaticaly charge you a service fee of 19.99 NON REFUNDABLE and do not accept CAA discounts except if you get a room in person. I am .01 per cent I will not choose this hotel again. We had a room on the main floor which was very noisy with people slamming doors advised them of the issue but didn't see to be concerned.
The room was beautiful and impeccable. Super comfortable bed and spacious rooms. They accepted our service dog without hesitation. The continental breakfast, the next day, was delicious. Hot and cold items and lots of drink items as well. We left full and content.
a weekend away so was very nice and refreshing, i cant say how kind and accommodating the staff are here, they treat you like family and staying there is kind of like going home. Thx for the great weekend, ill defiantly be back.
