Very quiet and well positioned, the restaurant was closed during my visit but it was a very friendly “acceuil” and a good stay. The room I chose, facing the street was less expensive and a bit noisy, given the fact the hotel was empty I would have loved a better one !
Very nice hotel. The room was large and clean the bathroom was also in excellent condition. The bed was comfortable and the hotel is centraly located with a view of the lake. This is not a criticism but in Canada like many place in the world the ground floor is the ground floor or the 0 floor while the 2nd floor is called the first floor. There is no elevator in this hotel so you must climb a flight of stairs to reach the rooms and two flights to reach the next level. So if you are handicapped and or if climbing a flight of stairs is difficult for you this may not be your place..
Truthfully, the lobby wasn't a place that called out to me. It seemed a little tired and down at the heels. Maybe even a little seedy with a couple of plants that had long passed their expiry date. The restaurant was closed the day we arrived - the local police force was holding a cocktail/dinner party - but hosts Katia & Claudia were helpful and welcoming while trying hosting the policemen's soiree. We got a key to a king room with a lake view. IMMACULATE! (yes, I was surprised) It was no doubt, recently renovated. The bathroom literally sparkled. New tub, beautiful granite floor, crisp bed linens, very comfortable bed. Simple but well appointed. Even though we knew that there was a great party going on downstairs all evening, we couldn't hear a thing in our room. Walk-in room rate $115C Breakfast was not included ($17) so we declined but the blueberry muffins smelled divine. Yes, we would stay again.…
I stayed one night at the hotel. The owner was very helpful in recommending the restaurants to go to and activities to do in the region, she even called Mont Megantic to check if the road up was open. The room and bathroom are nice and super clean. The bed was excellent and I had a good night sleep. For breakfast one can choose from the menu. I had the bagel with jam, fresh fruits and yogurt, which was very good and kept me going until lunch. I will certainly go back to this hotel if I'm again in the region.
If you’re visiting Lac Megantic, this is a perfect place for a delicious meal. For lunch, we had the soup de jour (spicy squash) and the salad repas with fish croquettes. Both were scrumptious. This place was recommended to us by a local and now I will recommend it to everybody. This meal comes complete with a beautiful view of the lake as well.
Our friends reserved this hotel and this time I didn’t research the place. I was pleasantly surprise. On arrival we were greeted by the owner, I think, she gave us a brief of what to do around the manoir, the restaurant with the best food and of course the many hike at the « Mont Mégantic « The room is very roomy with two queen bed. The view of the Lac Mégantic very nice. The bathroom look freshly renovated. The water pressure is good and very hot. The until thing I would complaint is there is not enough counter, only one small table and it wasn’t big enough for all our food. We were told there was a fridge in our room but unfortunately there was none. Luckily our friend in room #203 had a fridge so we could keep our perishable foods there. Overall a lovely stay. Well situated at about 30 minutes from Mont Gosford and the same for Mont Mégantic. …
