My family and I stayed at this hotel because of a recommendation from a family member. We should have been more skeptical and read the reviews before agreeing to go there. The hotel is about a 10-minute drive to a public beach and has a small pool. Our experience was exactly as stated by prior reviewers regarding the poor state...

We decided to go to Port Salut for Easter weekend. We called two days in advance to make reservation. I even ask for a price quote and was told that the rate hasn't changed. The AC was very loud and the mosquito nets on the bed seemed to have not been washed for months. There were quiet a few huge...

To begin...this hotel has some character, however, the owners...no character whatsoever! The most disgusting hotel I ever stayed in. The owners, especially the wife is the rudest, most elitist and degrading person I have ever been around. The husband tried to be nice, but it was too late when he did. The price is ridiculously overrated; breakfast is not included...

It was a brief one night visit. I arrived in the late afternoon at Port Salut while doing a little survey work up the coast at Les Coteaux! Hey, this is the coast to see and experience! Everyone is away on vacation! Well, the Boucannier was closed! Help! I banged on the gate and the owner, Jean-Michel Cheristal invited me...

The room is way over priced for Haiti especially for the quality. I am from the States but living/working in Haiti for the past two years and this is by far the worst hotel I've stayed at in terms of service and comfort. The bathrooms were disgusting, the service at the restaurant was absolutely awful, the beds were so uncomfortable...

My friends and I went down for Spring Break and we enjoyed every single minute of our stay. The service was good and the food was amazing! The rooms are very nice and ours was facing the ocean. They have games like ping pong, foosball and a pool table. They also have karaoke on Friday nights. I would recommend this...

Beautiful views from the rooms. My windows opened right onto the water. Cool decks and sitting areas, good food too. Downside is that its pricey, but almost anyplace decent in Haiti will be. I recommend it!

“Stay away! None of the rooms are great!”

“Well, there are rooms to the north side that literally are ocean-side, two levels, and others along the rock-side facing the decks, while others are off the beach in shaded galleries. This is not a cookie cutter hotel, very different, and highly exotic! the restaurant is to the south by the pool and is beach style and bare-foot! Evenings I am told can be shorts or Yves St. Laurent, whatever? I wasn't there long enough to really know the place but it is apparent this is a great way to live when you can arrive! I must insist that anywhere along this coast one should take the precaution of making a reservation, or at least call ahead. Beaches attract people from everywhere! Bouknier (Le Relais des Bouccaniers) is full one day, or one week, and quiet the next. Holiday time ? make a reservation!”
