Gorgeous spot, a true sanctuary as the name suggests. Spotless accomodation tucked away in a unique part of Northland. Our time was to short but definately on the return to list when some R & R is needed without the children.

Ideal base for DINKies like myself. Fantastic location, just a short amble from a secluded cove with few visitors. So idyllic that it's tempting just to sit and muse all day, soaking in the surroundings. Friendly owner who is happy to give guests as much privacy as they want. VERY VERY peaceful, which is a double edged sword to some...

Imagine your own private beach where all you see is the changing tide and the sun rising and setting.... this is it! Our first stay in February with our New Yorker guests confirmed for us that this is a good as it gets in terms of privacy and beauty. We have been back twice since and have just booked a...

what a delightful place, so beautiful and peaceful looking out over a private bay. I just loved sitting ,sipping my tea and reading whilst looking out over my own little private beach/ bay view. No other people in sight , heaven. Very comfortable and practical little cottage with everything you could need to have a perfect self contained holiday.

My husband and I have traveled extensively and rely on vacation rentals primarily for our accomodations. We have experienced some of the best and a few of the less than best and Bruce's Sanctuary stands at the very top of our experiences! Both cottages are great (though our preference is The Cove) and the standard of comfort, aesthetics, provisions and...

The full kitchen was kitted out just as perfectly as my house at home!! I was spellbound by the location. So tranquil with amazing sunsets/rises, glass like calm seas a stones throw from the veranda. It was just perfect. We stayed in the Cove Cottage and my only negative was the 50m walk through a bush track with our luggage...

Excellent base for Northland exploring. peaceful spot in a cove right on the Pacific between Cable Bay and Coopers Beach. The cottage was immaculate, everything one could need and more! We only had three nights but it would be lovely for a longer stay. Many thanks to Bruce for your warm welcome and relaxed, friendly approach. We will return!

The last two days of our honeymoon we had the pleasure of staying at Sanctuary in the cove which was amazing. We were able to relax totally and enjoy the peacefulness of the surrounding gardens and watching the water come in over the rocks. Waking up to the sounds of water was special. The accommadation was excellent and Bruce made...

These were some of the best days of our New Zealand trip. From the moment we arrived (unavoidably after hours), Bruce, the owner, could not have made us feel more welcome, even coming out to meet us in the dark at an easy-to-find place nearby in case we had difficulty finding Sanctuary in the Cove, and carrying our suitcases down...
