I did a 4 day stay as a single traveller. I had an amazing experience with an amazing guide "falcon". I did the extreme fishing on both of my full days. Extreme meant that there was a boat driver, guide and me. We went up a small river that feeds the lake. Since it was low water season we would...

We chose Otorongo Expeditions for its high rating on Tripadvisor, its mention in the Lonely Planet Guide, its professional website and the promise of an en-suite bathroom! I had looked into at least 6 other companies but that research only made OtoEx stand out more. The office in Iquitos arranged transfers from and to the airport through our hotels at...

I stayed for 7 nights with Otorongo on my own in the Amazon jungle, and it was everything I had always dreamed of. My two guides (Luis and Taio) were extremely professional and kind, and we became quite the animal spotting team! They ensured I remained safe, while also constantly putting me out of my comfort zone during a 3...

I never thought I would do anything like this, but I am so glad I did! You don't necessarily come away feeling like you've been on a vacation - but you feel like you've enriched your life. My grandson held a cayman and an anaconda AND caught a red-tailed catfish - so all of his dreams came true. (Which made...

What an incredible time we had at Otorongo Expeditions, with our guides Luis and Segundo! For a week these two guys took us all up, down, and hiking through the Amazon, pointed out birds and monkeys from 100m through the jungle, they even led us out camping with the critters for a few nights. They always had an expedition planned...

We enjoyed our stay at the Otorongo lodge very much. Although we were expecting maybe more from the wildlife spotting and food at the lodge, we had great adventures and exciting day trips. The big plus of Otorongo are the personal guides. You really can costumize your trip with many things to do. Our schedule of the day trips allowed...

I stayed at Otorongo Lodge for 3 nights in late June and loved every bit of it! I'm female and traveled solo, but I felt very safe with Luis and Mike even in the middle of the jungle. We did two excursions per day (morning and afternoon), plus one night hike near the lodge. Excursions included things like boating up...

Otorongo is unlike any place we've ever stayed, but in a very good way. It is not a luxurious resort, it is a jungle lodge that serves as a jumping-off point for your daily adventures, which is exactly what we wanted. Our guide, Edison, was an excellent guide. He was kind, experienced and showed us a great time. He was...

Our experience at Otorongo was fabulous. What I really liked was that each group had their own guide, and that trips you made were tailored to what you wanted to do. Our guides were Edison and Tayo, and they really went out of their way to make sure we had a good experience. They were extremely knowledgable, and could spot...

You can read other reviews to hear more about the pluses. They begin with the outstanding staff, and they include fishing for piranhas, swimming near dolphins, and seeing some funky animals at night. The staff baked a birthday cake for our two small kids. And we enjoyed talking with the other guests. The kids limited our mobility and prevented us...
