Aloegrove, situated atop an isolated kopje, is well worth the long drive down an unpaved track from the B1 north of Otjiwarongo. The comfortable lodge and spacious chalets sit at the centre of an 8300 hectare plaas, and offer plenty game sighting and stunning views over the bush to the Waterberg NP plateau. Hosts Ivy and Johan offer wonderful home...

To say that our 4-day stay at the Aloegrove Safari Lodge was fantastic would be an understatement. Despite travelling widely we have never experienced such warm & genunine hospitality from our hosts. Ivy & Johan were exceptionally engaging, friendly, informative & hospitable yet not intrusive. They have super facilities & the Lodge is self-contained & beautifully located with all the...

I stayed 3 nights at this lodge. Quite a long farm track to the lodge but it is well worth the journey. The lodge is built on a small hill in the middle of the farm with 360 degree views, including the dramatic Waterberg Plateau, and stunning sunsets. On the farm are many animals including the majestic giraffe. Ivy and...

This delightful oasis in the middle of Namibia has everything going for it. Spectacular views, large beautifully appointed chalets, delicious food, friendly and accommodating owners, courteous staff, and even protected wild life. And all of this is available at a reasonable price. The owners provide drives to see the animals and property. The meals are served in a dinning room...

We've been in the Aloegrove Safari Lodge as two couples and it was ine of the best places to stay in Nambia. When you arrive it is long and a little bit rough way from the gate to the lodge, which is located at the top of the mountain but it is worth every meter. The chalets are nice, large,...

Visited for two nights and owners and staff make you feel at home and everyone does a fab job. It is a long bumpy road from the main road, but you will not be disappointed so peaceful and tranquil. Food and drink superb. Everyone really passionate about the animals and nature. WELL DONE ALL

Aloegrove is by far the best lodge we have stayed at in Namibia. The hosts Johan and Ivy make you feel welcome from the very first time you meet them, nothing is to much bother for them. There staff are also very attentive. Thanks to Johan for the drive around his property to see some of the amazing wild life...

You won't stumble across Aloegrove by chance and it won't get much passing traffic being some distance (20km?) from the main road along farm tracks which on the whole are OK but there are a few rough tracks. The journey is more than worth it, with the accommodation being on the top of a small hill with extensive 360 degree...
