This was perhaps one of the best vacations that I have had in a very long time. Don't expect anything fancy as it is a budget hotel, but it has a view that is worth a million bucks. The staff is extremely friendly and goes out of their way to ensure your comfort. All things said and done - go to this place if you are looking some peace of mind, you won't be disappointed.
Stayed in this Hotel for one night during our week long trip of Jim Corbett-Ranikhet-Nainital in December 2017. We booked two rooms in the hotel and occupancy was close to zero on day of our arrival. Rooms are quite basic, with minimal furnishing.Upholstery is bit old with signs of wear and tear. As it is the budget hotel you shouldn't come expecting everything spick and span. Rooms have a wardrobe and geyser in the attached washrooms. Rooms in the back side of the hotel open upto nice views of mountain peaks and a beautiful valley. Staff was co-operative but food items were overpriced.
Near our house in Majhkali, Sahaj restaurant, situated close to Umang shop, on the road from Ranikhet to Majhkali, is a nice clean place to stop for tea, pakodas, omelet, Toast and coffee. Of course if u have time, they will prepare a meal. It’s not so much the food but the opportunity to soak in the mountainside and the snow peaks of Trishul and Nandadevi in the distance north. So give your driver and car a rest, have a break and also visit Umang shop for locally made wares- woollens, jams, tea, walnuts and pickles. Pay cash, not by credit card, and give clear instructions to manager how you want your tea and coffee made.
A lovely hotel by the side of the road, spacious clean rooms with a view of the countryside, and if you're lucky the Himalayas. 24 hour hot-water (your own geezer). We intended to stay one night but stayed two because it was such a nice place.
Very Expensive with Poor Quality of Service and Food Provided.....Not even have the courtesy to negotiate on account of Customer Satisfaction. Though a peaceful place with OK Staff....Still Seriously does not worth the money they charge.
Sahaj is a budget hotel and go with the same expectation. We booked it for the time as it was close to our daughters school. The mattress is simple foam mattress hence sleep quality is poor. Food is average as well. The courtesy and hospitality of staff was good. View of Himalayas are excellent with commanding view if Mount Trishul.
Hotel is on east side of Ranikhet and 8 km away. So every time you have to travel back to city for most of locations. Staff is very cooperative. Food is average since hotel has very small kitchen. Stay has been peaceful and good. There is no view of Himalaya in June from hotel as mentioned by hotel.
Good choice of hotel at some distance from city. Nice and peaceful environment around the hotel was quite pleasant. Room was decent in size and feels homely, Balcony was spacious to sit and enjoy the beautiful landscape. Unfortunately i wasn't there in a good weather when you get clear views, still i could capture great sunsets. Food is decent and adequately priced. The restaurant also has a nice balcony view. Only thing i rued was the very dangerous stairs for the top floor, which is tough for even an adult, let alone a child.
A beautiful place run by a wonderful couple. The property sits right on the edge with nothing but greenry below. The air is fresh and clean (takes a while for your lungs to get accustomed to it, so bouts of wild cough is normal). The area is lush and green no matter where you look, kids playing along side streams of water, step farming, tea gardens, lauki big enough to qualify as a baseball bat! Because we went during the "off season" time, we didn't get to see the Himalayan Range; which I've been told is a majestic site. October to March is when you want to be there. A quick weekend trip is all you need. Now, about the hotel; from the minute we arrived until we left, we were well taken care of. The staff is courteous and it felt like a home away from home. The food is delicious and the linen is fresh. You can sit out in the lawn and soak in the sun while sipping on your morning tea/coffee. There isn't much to do when in Ranikhet, but to drive around aimlessly or to head out for walks. But, its worth your time to feel and experience the beauties of Mother Nature.…
We visited Sahaj last week, all I want to say that hotel has poor quality and unhygienic food. We had to use deluxe room against booking of most expensive premium room as those rooms were too small and on the terrace and you have to use unsafe iron stairs to reach their , you just can’t use these stairs with your luggage or with kids. More frustrating is that hotel is far from city and you left no choice but to use hotel pathetic services at 5 star rates. If you still wish to stay here then I highly recommend to not to use hotel taxi which is actually not a taxi but an owner old santro and at the end you will find yourself for paying BMW taxi fare for this santro -. Well, Ranikhet is beautiful place ,one should visit once but you may find good properties to make your journey relaxing and enjoyable and to worth of what you spend on your holiday. Thank you!…
