Twenty five kilometres away from Ranikhet lies a sleepy hamlet called Majhkhali and in all that sleepyness lie three beautiful cottages of Mr. Kumar. I have had the pleasure of staying in two different cottages on two separate occasions and I have to say that I'll be staying in the third one as well in the near future.
The environment is so clean that it takes a while for a city rat to acclimatize to the fresh air, water and silence but the beauty strikes right away.
The quiteness of the place awakens you to the majesty of the jungle.
The quiet getaway was possible with the help of Mr. Kumar and his wonderful staff. What they provided was professional care.
Majkhali takes you away to a place where silence is king. One can simply venture out during the day for long walks, trekking or birdwatching. If you need any assistance, Mr. Kumar will help you out.

We stayed here enroute home in Jim Corbett. We were very warmly welcomed by Pradeep Ji(the owner ) over the phone.
The property is very beautifully maintained and done up. It has an old world charm to it . The room we stayed was quite comfy, neat and clean. It had a spacious balcony/sit out on the same floor, overlooking a valley, as we sat the clouds came floating in.
The hightlight of the stay was undoubtedly Bhagwat Ji(Boo Boo Ji) as they called him in the local Kumaoni language. He is the care taker and the chef. His warmth and love is unimaginable. He is like the elder of the house, takes care of you and feeds you all the delicious food. The food he made for us was just to our taste, non spicy and without any unwanted masalas. Super tasty. He will readily make anything you wish.

The interiors are done up very well. And a special mention to the classy crockery.

We would definitely come back soon for a longer stay. Had a wonderful time. Thank you all.

Our stay at Roseville would always have a special place among the indelible memories that we created on our trip.
The pleasing ambiance of the cottage and their endearing staff ready to welcome with their humble smiles is just what settles you to the place right at the moment. We liked the cozy room space, capacious balcony by the kitchen, gracefully- designed dining area, and their excellent food, the best bit! The dedication with which people work, especially the dearest venerable cook behind the scrumptious food, establishes a beautiful allegiance between the guests and the hosts. The manager had been supportive and accomodating, offered personalized suggestions, helped with cab arrangements, and exploring nearby spots. A remarkable experience, indeed! Looking forward :)

Everything about this stay was fantastic. Pradeep's service as a host was so helpful for us to plan our trip, and the chef Bhagavat's cooking- honestly it was like being at a chef's table at a 5 star restaurant. He would happily show us ingredients and explain his meal plans so nicely. As such I would definitely recommend getting the all inclusive stay and have the most amazing food all day. The view from here was great, we loved morning tea on the balcony. We really did not want to go back to Delhi!

Roseville is a beautiful property nestled among pine trees in Majkhali. It is brilliantly maintained by Pradeep Ji. From the very first instance it makes you feel like home. The rooms are nice and clean and the dining area is the best place to enjoy a few drinks with an indoor fireplace. The food is homely but still lip smacking which is gracefully served by Pradeep Ji himself. He adds a tinge of his homely care which makes it even better. Overall Pradeep Ji ensures that one has a great stay by providing his expertise and guidance in planning the tour as well catering to all your needs. Would love to visit again soon!!

Before choosing the place to stay we read many good reviews about the place. Since there are not many places to stay in majkhali so it was not difficult to choose Roseville.
It's not the place and cottage which is amazing. You may get few other places like this. But what makes it worth staying are the hosts.
They are amazing people. Bhagwat ji is 67 yrs old and cooking since when he was 18 and trust me he have the magic in his hands. Every time you see him ,he will smile and politely ask " sir kuch khayenge app(do you like to eat something)." He has done many trekking with Britishers after independence and have many stories to tell.

Mr Pradeep ji is in this industry for years and will be there when you need him for any thing and any information.

We booked Koyal cottage but for some reasons we were given the Roseville cottage. Place is reasonably spacious with large balcony and dining area. It is situated few meters down the road.

Wifi connection was very good. We could connect 2 laptops with VPN connection.

I've been to a lot of places recently but this place has my heart ❤️

It's a beautiful place to stay at, with a wonderful view and the most heartwarming staff you can ever imagine.
Every time I woke up, I was greeted with the beautiful view of the mountains and the most pleasant weather I could've asked for.

I can't emphasis it enough, ITS A MUST VISIT.

Thank you to the staff for making my journey a memorable one.

p.s. Early morning breakfast with a cup of coffee hits different here.

We spent 4/5 nights at Roseville cottage and had an amazing time. To top it all, the food prepared by the cook was out of the world. Although, we could have gotten better weather, the place does offer panoramic views of the mountains.

Pradeep was very professional and accommodating to all our needs. We look forward spending time again.
