We loved the RIU Palace Pacifico. Very nice and great vibe. Everyone respected COVID protocols. The food was very good and the drinks were great. The pool is so massive that you never felt crowded. We’ll be going back!

Each time that my wife and I have the privilege to visit RIU PALACE PACIFICO we think that it cannot be better than the previous time, but with all the restrictions of COVID-19 protocols they succeeded once again. Upon our arrival, as always the porters met our taxi with a “Big Hello!! Welcome home!” and they hurried the bags inside standing ready to help us to our room. Our room assignment was ready and we were assisted by a young lady on the counter in checking us in very efficiently and smoothly. Very quickly we were in a clean and appropriately sanitized room where we could refresh and relax after our trip. I must add that our room was always cleaned quickly and spotlessly by our maids. COVID protocols have placed difficulties on everyone, but I think that the most difficult area is in the areas of food preparation and presentation. The right person at the right time seemed to be in the entire food and beverage area. Food was great and there was always a great selection. Although we were restricted from sitting at the bars the tables were served promptly and efficiently by cocktail servers. The pool area was always clean and service was good for personnel in the loungers. Many swimmers made good use of the swim up bar. Nightly entertainment was very good and I must add that in addition to the shows in the theater a pianist/guitarist preformed in the main lounge for a couple of hours each evening. It was a very enjoyable visit and we have already made reservations for late October/November of this fall. I encourage everyone to join us.

I have been to PV many, many times. Stayed at all types of resorts/condos/timeshares. Here is my review of Riu Palace Rooms: I was in Jr Suite Partial Ocean View on 8th(top) floor. Great view, I would consider this ocean view, not partial, was great view. Room was good. It's starting to show it's age. Whirlpool tub, that didn't work. I didn't complain, not a huge deal. There is a refrigerator with drinks that is filled daily. Small coffee maker. No hard liquor dispensers due to Covid. Buffet: Good food, great variety. A little confusing on how they want people to go, but no matter what they do, people will want to do it different anyway. Specialty Restaurants: No reservations required, just walk up. Had to wait a couple times for about 20 minutes, so no big deal. These are NOT relaxing, sit down type of experience. It's more of a formal FAST food Experience. At the steakhouse, start to finish less than 45 minutes. I ordered and 30 seconds later my appetizers were in front of me, as soon as appetizers were done, my main course was set down. Also at steakhouse, wine only, no drinks served. There is a bar, literally right outside the door to the restaurant, but they will not serve any drinks other than wine. You need to carry in your own. Part of the fun of specialty restaurants is to sit, talk, relax, and enjoy. NOT here, it's the bums rush to get you done and out. I hadn't eaten my first day. I tried to order two entrees. NO, sorry only one entree. Trust me, I'll eat them both. No, sorry can't do it? Isn't this All Inclusive? Yes, but only one entree?? Bars, drinks: Excellent. Mostly very friendly staff, would try and make any drink you asked for. Not sure why people complain about watered down drinks at any all inclusive. Just ask for a double. The bartenders want you to enjoy your drinks. Nightly Show: Excellent. Probably some of the best quality I've seen at AI resorts. It wasn't just the cheesy entertainment staff double worked type of shows. Yeah, they were the type of shows we've all seen if we've traveled to Mexico before, but the quality was good. The showroom is nice, and drink service was great inside showroom. Daytime Entertainment: I really don't pay attention to it. Seemed to be ok, the good part is they weren't blasting loudly over speakers. Location: You are in the middle of nowhere, I knew it when I booked, so I wasn't surprised. It's a 45 minute walk on the beach into Bucerias. I mostly used UBER, and it was about $20 into downtown PV, and about $4 to Bucerias. It's a little bit of a pain to use Uber because the resorts are against them. You have to go outside of resort and catch Uber. COME on resorts, UBER is here to stay, cheaper, better, easier, safer to use than Taxis. Overall, good experience, and I would stay here again. BUT let people enjoy their sit down meals. We are on vacation to slow down and enjoy.

We travelled to this resort with 2 other couples, after we all had both our COVID shots, and after we found out the resort offered free onsite COVID testing, for our re-entry into the US. The resort is a fairly short ride from the airport, and uneventful. It is still a little hard to work your way through the time share personnel in the airport, to get out to your transportation, but we made it. There is a temperature scanner set up right in the entrance to the lobby, very simple, non-intrusive, you just walk slowly past the scanner, and you are good to go. The lobby of the hotel is rather spectacular, something right out of an old movie, you expect to see old movie stars walking across the marble on their way to grab a martini. Registration was efficient and smooth, all personnel were friendly and courteous. Our room was on the 8th floor, partial ocean facing, the decor was a little dated, but the room in general was very nice, with a small balcony, two chairs, and very nice for watching the sun do down. Our only complaint about the room was the air conditioning, which seemed to function more like a fan, than an AC unit. The pool area was nice, bartenders very friendly. Again, our only complaint was the distance to the restrooms, from the pool area. And there was only one bathroom, within a 5 minute walk from the pool. The beach was very nice, very long, and you could walk the beach all the way down to the flea market in Bucerias. No currency conversion available at the front desk, we withdrew peso's from a local ATM, located in the lobby, and the front desk will exchange higher notes for smaller ones, for tipping purposes. Since they were very good about COVID restrictions, some of the facilities were tightened up, the sports bar pool tables were not able to be used, the tables in restaurants and bars were spaced at least 6 ft apart, just to mention a few. One other note, although we tried the specialy restaurants, the large and incredible buffet was the best buffet we have experienced in the last 10 years. About a $15 cab ride to the flea market in Bucerias, and about a $20 cab ride to downtown Puerto Vallarta. We give it a two thumbs up, cold beer in the river for you guarantee. que tenga un buen día

Best hotel we’ve ever stayed in. Super, SUPER clean. Very helpful and police staff. Food was ok. Nothing special as with most all inclusive places. But we WILL be back. We love d it here. The AC in the room sis not good. It does not get cool enough to sleep very well. But over all this place in amazing.
