We were visiting our friends in the Taipalsaari region in July and they suggested to visit Hotel Saimaanranta for a play and swim on the beach and a meal in the restaurant. We took our kids, including a 4months old baby and enjoyed our time on the beach. After about an hour, a black car approached and out stepped a...

Quite sympathetic place amidst the forests and lakes is located on the lakeshore of Saimaa in southern region of Finland not very far from russian border. Beautiful nature - pine trees, lake. A room in the style of a country house. Grilled sausages on the grill, all the facilities for this, just need to bring coals to take because the wood cost 10eur for a small box.

Do not visit this "hotel" unless you want to have a touch of 70s again.. Our room smelled like someone just have smoked. Furnitures and textiles were shabby. The reception was not open like said on the hotel pages. The price of our room was a mystery until we left, although we tried to ask it. The breakfast was worst...
