This palafito has the most amazing views; indoor and outdoor seating and yoga platform! The rooms are very nice, great shower and bed. We decided to cook which was a fun experience in a well equipped kitchen.

Hostel Palafitos is simply brilliant. It’s modern, spacious, cozy and stylish. It’s the kind of place that makes you stop and think “the person who designed this really put thought into every element of this place”. The use of gorgeous native woods, the hefty rustic furniture, the little decorations with Chilote folkloric touches, the ample terrace with tranquil views over... More

It is a really nice place, with great views and an excellent price. As someone mentioned, it is basically an hotel with a dorm! Backpackers have to stop here. It is a quiet spot, next to the lake, really comfortable rooms. Highly recommended.

This place is essentially a boutique hotel which has a dorm, which is great as it allows backpackers the chance for a little luxury. The rooms are massive, include cooked breakfast, and have stunning view of the lake. Cucao is pretty remote so it's nice to just sit back and relax.

Whilst the town of Cucao is very small and doesn't offer a huge amount more than tranquil views and easy access to walks in the national park, this hostel is well worth a visit. Feeling like a cross between a hotel and a house from Grand Designs, the wooden chalet vibe opens out in the living room to offer almost... More

We spent two days at Hostel Palafito Cucao in April 2016. Without a doubt it's the nicest "hostel" we've ever stayed at. It should probably call itself a boutique hotel. We had a private, en suite family room with a bunk bed for the kids. Fantastic bedding and a really lovely bathroom. Great view. Also, there is a well-equipped shared... More

We stopped in at Palafito Cucao in the hope that they might have a place for us to stay, and we immediately fell in love with the beautiful double room that overlooks the lake. Cucao is a great place to visit for a taste of Chiloé's wild west coast, and this hostel has to be the best spot in the... More

This is the place to stay if you're visiting Cucao. The back of the Palafito hotel (there's a twin hotel in Castro too) overlooks the estuary and surrounding national park and there are board walks and decking so guests can admire the view from beyond the hotel's huge floor to ceiling windows. Sadly we were only staying one night so... More

Don't miss Chiloe National Park or a lovely stay at Hostal Palafito in Cucao. The ambiance, right on an estuary, is sublime. There is a lovely deck off the common area which has floor to ceiling windows for viewing amazing sunsets. Each room faces the water. We traveled to Cucao by bus, and the bus driver let us off right... More

I am writing this after my one month trip in Chile. Beautiful location, big terraces (for nice weather), cosy communal area, one big breakfast table, clean, 2 private bathrooms for 6 beds, delicious breakfast and reachable by public transport. Everything in wood and a hot tub is available with the cold river/lake experience included (you have to pay for it).... More
