We booked for 2 nights at this place! The pictures looked trustworthy till we actually reached the place! We were horrified to see the rooms! The owner has uploaded the pictures of his place of stay/ his home/ and what youll get to stay at, is a poorly made still under construction lodge! I have all the pictures as proofs with me and i would make sure i take this complaint ahead! We were a couple and i was constantly worried for our safety! Till evening we were the only ones staying and suddenly there were more people around for the night, talking absurdity, abusing and were typical drunks! Couldn’t have stayed anymore, so we checked out the next morning and saved the day! Asked the owner for refund, he swiftly refused. Also the charges for food is just about too much! Ordered simple dal tadka and boiled BASMATI rice at 75rs each and what a horrendous meal! That quality of rice is subpar low, leave basmati alone! And dal? Don’t even get me started! I would advise anyone booking for this place, to book someplace else!! Even for 500/night, this is a joke!! I don’t recommend hotel holiday homes at all!! Look at the pictures attached! The walls are damp and loaded with fungus, the rooms had a stinky feel! The bedsheets/ quilt had lint all over and they were definitely dirty! The fans like they havent been cleaned in foRever! There was a dead rose on the wall mirror! WTF!! And to top it all, if you have to order food from them, you have to update them by 4pm, they’ll start making it by 8:30 and by 10pm you’ll be presented with horrendous food! Never again! No thanks!…
Stayed here for just over two weeks as part of a volunteering group. Myself and four others were placed in a subterranean part of the accommodation, meaning paired with the recent monsoon season, that section of the hotel was constantly damp, moist and mouldy. We could use the wardrobes due to mould growth, so had to live out of our suitcases for the entire time. The air was constantly damp, meaning all of us in that section of the hotel were constantly battling with a cold, sore throat etc. Bed sheets were very smelly and stained, and constantly wet due to the moisture in the air. Rooms and decoration outdated, and never cleaned, especially the bathroom, where the sink wasn't even touched due to the black dirt on it. My pillow had mould on it, and had to be replaced with spares that were left in the room. The pillow mysteriously disappeared when it was left out. We had one incident during our stay were we were a bit loud beyond the curfew times (10pm), and due to this the owner wasn't happy. After this, we were made to feel very unwelcome by the owners and the staff at the hotel. Food was ok, it was the same stuff day in and day out, and the lunch portions were a spoonful each (we were given packed lunches to take away). The owner also thought it was ok to shout at a paying guest, our team leader, when she raised complaints about the place. Overall, the damp and mould were the main issues with this place and the generally unwelcoming manner. Im sure there are much nicer places to stay in the town.…
I stayed here for 3 weeks as a base for my volunteering program. It was so much better than I was expecting as the staff are so lovely and became more of a family. Stunning views and a lovely house. I am already planning when to go back as I have been home for a few days and miss Palampur very much!
Location is hardly 2 km from Palampur Bus Stand on Lohna hills. Simply superb location, nice atmosphere. Holiday Home is a home away from home. The owners are simply great, they greet you in such a way that you will home away from home. Nice food too, one must visit Holiday Home.
The location of this place is the best part of this homestay. Located in a very good locality just near to the main market (Subhash Chowk)which is harly 10 mins walk from the place. U get to stay in rooms which are seperated from the owners residence and the view from there is just exotic. Mountains in different hues with a gurgling stream flowing down gives u a complete detached from the world feel . Rooms are basic neat n clean with reqd amenities. Thakur uncle n aunty are cordial peolple and if ur having breakfast with them then do ask for paratha n aloo ki sabji, its awesome. Nanki the dog is great company n a sweetheart. Thakur uncle will guide u how to go about the local places . In one word worth the money. U will not regret.
