The Wah Tea Estate Homestay is based on a tea estate called "Wah". The Lodge at Wah offers an eco-friendly stay and immersive tea experience. We created this Himalayan retreat set amidst tea bushes to get away from our busy daily lives. Guests will absolutely love the tranquil atmosphere, the birds chirping in the morning and the quiet serenity. Sit back and enjoy enjoy the beauty of the Dhauladhar range and the lush greenery. Take a tea tour and learn how to taste like a pro! The Lodge has some incredible meals to offer for all guests, using produce from our kitchen garden and the estate. Guests might come for the views, but they will stay for the food, and of course, the tea!

Really late in writing this review! Apologies Surya and Upasna for the delay!
My spouse and I had the pleasure of staying at the Lodge at Wah in Palampur in September ‘23 based on few of our friends’ recommendations and we were absolutely delighted, right from get go. Surya and Upasna were extremely warm folks. The cleanliness of the place was exceptional and the moment we stepped into our room, we were greeted by a delicate and refreshing fragrance that instantly made the space more inviting! The staff was extremely helpful and helped us with quite a few recommendations on visiting some food joints around! Dham thali was bursting with authentic flavours and showcased richness of the cuisine. The flavour still takes us back and we could not get enough! Understanding history of tea consumption was an immersive experience and the knowledge we gained from our guide exceeded our expectations. We had the opportunity of tasting variety of teas each with nuanced flavour than the last.
The home stay experience was a first for us and we will keep it in our fond memories forever :)
We look forward to visit again when we are around.
P.S : visited in September’23 but drop down doesn’t show the desired month since we are late in sharing the review!

What a delightful experience on our stay at Lodge at Wah @Palampur. This charming property, nestled amidst lush greenery and a variety of flora, fauna, offered excellent cottages, clean rooms, excellent service, and warm hospitality. We enjoyed our three-night stay and would have loved to stay more. The owners, who also own Wah tea estates, provided a fascinating tour of their tea-making and trading process.
At the property their breakfast and meals were delicious, combining contemporary and traditional local flavors. Mr. Deepak, Surya, and Upasana, our gracious hosts, truly understood the importance of exceptional customer service and customer experience. They meticulously considered every detail from our perspective, making our stay incredibly comfortable. The evening fireside chats was particularly a lovely idea and enjoyable. The hosts also participated in these chats, which made it more interesting. Saloni, our dedicated point of contact, ensured that our needs were met and often anticipated them. She has dedicated her time to this cause at a very young age and that is credible. She was ably supported by Jassi and his team. Overall, our stay at Lodge at Wah was fantastic. The team's hard work and attention to detail made it a memorable experience

As soon as we arrived, we immediately felt welcome. Upasana and Surya were so welcoming. We arrived at 9pm and a lovely Himalchi dinner awaited us. We particularly appreciated that each dish was explained to us (first time since we had arrived in India). Surya took time to explain the history of the Wah Tea Estate as we were having dinner. The food was exquisite! As we are a family of 5 (we had two rooms) in The Lodge, beautifully decorated, mixing old and new construction techniques. Beds super comfortable. Excellent location as we are within the tea estate. The next day we had a guided visit of the tea estate followed by tea tasting session and a delicious breakfast outside in the sun. Waiters looked after us and even produced freshly squeezed orange juice. To end this amazing day, a surprise tea and nibbles (savoure and sweet) were organised within the tea estate at sunset with sow-capped mountains as a backdrop. Highly recommend The Lodge as well as the Wah Tea Estate (guided tour and tea tasting session). Shop is amazing and makes great gifts! Would go back anytime!

DearAnnabel, it was really wonderful to have you, Luke and the kids stay with us. We had such a good time, short as it was, and really enjoyed showcasing some of our best dishes and activities of the region. I am glad that our explanation of the special thali (dhaam) was appreciated - it is the one meal that our entire team is so proud to serve to our guests. I wish we had more time with you and your family, but it makes us happy that we could leave you with some good memories! I hope the rest of your time in India was amazing! Wishing you all a very happy new year.

My husband and I stayed here for four nights and had a wonderful time. Upasana, Surya and Saloni are wonderful hosts, and they along with their team go out of their way to treat you like a guest in their own home. From making sure our dietary preferences are taken care of, to helping us with a local driver and recommendations of local places to visit, to having super interesting conversations with us, they are hosts par excellence. The rooms here are beautifully done with reclaimed wood and mud and slate, giving the place a rustic yet cozy feel. The highlight is the delicious food.. wood fired pizzas, khow suey, Himachali dhaam and tandoori dinner night had every dish spot on. The tea gardens across the road are beautiful as well, with a pretty cafe to soak in the atmosphere. The owners dog, Lilly, is friendly and super cute, and makes me want to adopt a pet :). We had a lovely relaxing time at the Lodge at Wah and would love to visit again.

What a wonderful, luxurious and peaceful place! Surya and Upasana are a wonderful vibrant couple who hosted us warmly with an open heart in their tea farm lodge. The room was beautifully decorated and very warm and comfortable, so we decided to have a rest there from our hectic trip schedule :-)
We had an interesting guided tour at the family’s nearby tea factory and trough it we learned some new facts about the tea industry and had an opportunity to taste over 20 different tea flavors. The meals were very rich and tasty and at dinner time we sat with Surya and Upasana and got into very interesting conversations. The staff, headed by Saloni was very kind and helpful. This place is highly recommended to anyone who wishes to enjoy a great location with warm hospitality and tranquility . We will definitely want to comeback soon.
In the meantime we will drink a lot of Wah tea 😜

From the start (many months before our stay), Upasana was incredibly helpful with feedback on our planned itinerary, and then meeting the Prakash family (and a few of their friends) during our stay was simply a delight. They, and their staff, are a great team. We felt most welcome. The Lodge itself is characterful and very comfortable - absolutely in keeping with the semi-rural environment, and the charms of the Kanga Valley. The gardens are lovely, too. It's on the edge of a small town, Patti, meaning guests have easy access to banks, shops and other facilities. We toured the neighbouring Wah tea plantation, and did some tasting. It has a chic cafe for lunch. At the Lodge we drank tea and read, relaxed around a bonfire, had henna painting and massages, played Scrabble, and ate (and ate and ate) fabulous organic food). We did an interesting local tour, organised through the Lodge, that included a short narrow-gauge train ride and visits to a Shiva temple, Andretta pottery and a Buddhist nunnery. A perfect day. We were lucky with the weather (but they need more rain) - the snow-capped mountain backdrop was extraordinary. Absolute trip hightlight. Thanks to all.

Staying at the Lodge at Wah was a highlight of our three week trip to Northern India. It was a great place to start because we could unwind after all the travel. The rooms are beautiful, the food is great (they kindly baked me special gluten free breads to accommodate my food restrictions) and most of all the owners and staff were warm and welcoming. We were treated like family which made the stay especially memorable. It's also a lovely party of the country to visit.

Beautiful gardens, rustic upscale accommodation, delicious food, and a very relaxing atmosphere combine to create this getaway gem in the shadow of the Himalayas. The staff are very attentive, friendly and professional. This is especially true of Saloni, the go to person for everything from room reservations to arranging off site activities. If you are looking for a serene place to relax and recharge you can't go wrong in choosing The Lodge at Wah.

I had been wanting to go stay at the Lodge at Wah since a couple of years. Finally managed in June 2022.
I must say, I was really impressed by many things at the lodge
1. The Fact they are as eco friendly as one can be while making sure their guests are comfortable.
2. Hospitality was great, the staff was always out there to help you with whatever you need or just to serve you with great efficiency. TheirManager was super sweet and helpful in organising our daily itinerary and deciding our Breakfast & Dinner Cuisine and Menu very timely. Finally, I must mention uncle (the owner) was super friendly and personally made sure we were being looked after very well and comfortable, it’s a delight to have a conversation with him on various subjects, he arranged a tour of his tea estate while sharing the history of tea in India and of his estate.
3. The food at the lodge will have your taste buds dancing away, their Tibetan & Chinese was to die for, Italian was awesome, Indian was rocking and the Himachali Thali was too good. Hats off to the chef for his versatility. Their cakes which were prepared by one of their lady staff were outstanding we couldn’t stop eating them with our evening tea and post-dinner too.
4. The lodge itself is really beautiful, the rooms are very comfortable and clean, it's great to sit outside every morning & evening for tea with great mountain views, sounds of birds and continue outside for a few drinks. So much nature around that I would love to keep coming back to Lodge at Wah.
It’s a must visit.

We i.e, my husband, mother & I have just gotten back from a wonderful four night stay at the Wah Lodge. This lovely little homestay amidst the lush tea gardens in the backdrop of the Dhauladhar range is a perfect place to get away from it all. The lovely young owners of the tea estate & lodge, Upasana & Surya were so warmly welcoming & hospitable. They took such good care of us & specially of my mother that it felt like we've known them for a long time . The rooms are beautifully done up with adequate heating, sleep quality in such tranquil surroundings is obviously very good & on super comfy beds. The staff were well trained & service was really impeccable. Nothing was too much trouble, 20 cups of tea in a day if one so wished & the food served was good. My favourite was the Kangri Dham served on the first night....everything on the menu was explained by Surya. We've done lots of Tea factory & tea tasting tours but the tour given to us by Surya was the best I've ever done. He made it very interesting & informative patiently answering all our questions. We got along very well with the other guests & had a fun 31st night with a roaring bonfire & tons of kebabs etc. They do bonfires every night where the drinks & snacks are served followed by dinner in the dining hall. They organised a lovely picnic for us on the banks of the Neugal River....we had so much fun I feel like going back already. Thank you Upasana & Surya for a really memorable four days in your home - The lodge at Wah !
