Just now and again you find the perfect watering hole that comes right out of a storybook ! The warmth of the welcome at Le Chardon is unsurpassed....no sooner have you alighted in the village car park.....for a glass of cold white burgundy to be offered to refresh the thirsty travellers. The main salon has an eclectic collection of motor...

Over hearing British voices at a quayside restaurant in Tournus lead to a conversation, as it does, and a recommendation to visit La Chardon in the village of Chardonnay. We visited on a ‘quiet’ night for the restaurant but this meant we could chat with the owners, Nick and Rebecca who could not have been better hosts. Food was excellent...

We are so glad this was our first stop on our Tour de France. Nick and Rebecca are wonderful hosts and even though we only spent two days there we felt like old friends by the time we had to leave. The countryside is beautiful and there is plenty to see in the villages around Chardonnay. The dining room is...

Nick and Rebecca sure know how to make you feel home from the minute you enter their premises, whether standing at the bar or sitting in the spacious dining room. I'd say my extrovert English wife made their task to welcome us possibly easier than usual. I can't judge the rooms, as we purposely stopped there for a light lunch...

Very comfortable accommodation, wonderful meals and excellent wine all delivered with a smile from Rebecca and Nick who gave us great suggestions and itineraries (and maps) to follow to see the local area. We spent 3 nights at Le Chardon but we could have easily spent a week or two enjoying their hospitality and visiting the region. There is a...

Enjoyed Nick's delicious home cooked meals and with guidance from Rebecca we fell in love with the local chardonnay. Would highly recommend staying at Le Chardon if you...

Another weekend in Chardonnay at le Chardon - and as usual had a wonderful time ! Crisp cold chardonnay at the bar upon arrival, chatting with Nick & Rebecca and other guests, then enjoyed a delicious dinner. A good nights sleep in one of their large bedrooms and bathroom is big too !! It was a bit chilly for May...

We have just had the most wonderful visit to Le Chardon. Having booked on spec after a recommendation from another local hotel, we arrived late and rather road weary to a wonderful warm welcome. The rooms were clean and simply furnished, and, as we were to find out, with very comfortable beds. We ate in the restaurant and had a...

We have visited Le Chardon previously, and have spoken highly of Rebecca and Nick to our friends. This time the friends came too! We pre-booked all four rooms plus dinner, and arrived on a sunny September afternoon to a warm welcome and a few glasses of wine before going for a walk with Rebecca and the dogs up the hills...
