Detailed Reviews
This hotel is clean, organized and secure, not to mention inexpensive. The cable TV really surprised me as it had so many great movie channels, in all languages. The hot water in the shower was no joke, I mean scalding if not careful.
Bed comfortable, room large, other seating in the room and table for food. Breakfast is sort of a joke but that is normal and good restaurants are only blocks away.
I stay here every time I go to Boca Chica. It is a little noisy until about 11 PM due to a crazy store owner across the street who thinks he must blast music to attract customers to buy bottle s of water!! That is the DR for you!

We were stuck with no flight or room for 3 days. We got in a cab and he told us about a place "right in town, walk to anything, beach right there, cheap, great place" mind you we speak pretty much no Spanish. We pulled up and he jumped out and started grabbing our bags, we took a quick look around and our first thought was RUN. He brought us inside and started talking and making all the arrangements. It was cheap and our only place to sleep so my husband paid for 3 nights at $45,00 a night including a full breakfast. They needed to walk to a ATM to pay the cab driver who had agreed to pick us up in 3 days. While my husband was gone and I got past the fact that the hotel guard walked around with a sawed off shot gun, I looked around and the place was very clean and started to look kind of islandy and cute. The pool was very small with no frills but very clean and the chemicals were fine. We needed a place to eat and the taxi driver told us the hotel restaurant was very good so we tried it. Well we wound up eating there for breakfast and dinner every night. The food was very good, we both had an ap, grilled lobster and 2 beers and the bill for both was around the $30.00 with tip. We felt very safe the room was clean with great air conditioning and TV. OK, so before you go, there was a brothel across the street that played very load music ALL NIGHT. Cars beeping and partying seems to go on all night. The beach was a few blocks away and very interesting to say the least. To wrap it up, the place was very clean, food was very good, staff was nice enough and would help a lot if you spoke Spanish. A little scary at first look with the crowds, shot gun and prostitutes but we had a great time, it was safe and fun place to be stuck at. Reminded us of a place Anthony Bordain would go. Bring your ear plugs and it will be fine.

Ate dinner at the restaurant part of hotel. Prices were reasonable. Food was OK. Asked for chicken cordon Bleu. Didn't have it. Ok asked for the Churrasco didn't have it. Settled for steak in a peppercorns sauce. A little chewy. With white rice. Wife had fried pork chops with tostones. Bill a little under $20. I also had a homemade fruit punch and wife had bottled water. Food came in a reasonable time. Wife thought her food was OK.

Horrible hotel, don't be deceived by the pictures online. The room we got had no room to walk, there was no chair, tables, bathroom toilet was broken, shower was awful. The picture of the pool did not match how it actually looks. No view to the beach.
The restaurant food was ok, but it faces the street so you get all the noise of traffic and dust. The restaurant had no air conditioner.
The hotel is not made for disabled peopled as it does not have an elevator, it has 3 floor.

I found this place online using PRICELINE.COM (more on them later). This place looked very inviting online. The pictures and some of the posted reviews made this hotel look like a great value for the money. The truth is the place is run like a cheap dive, and I advise avoiding this place at all costs! When I first arrived, the front desk clerk didn't even speak enough English to confirm my reservation. Then, the next thing that happened was truly upsetting. When we tried to pay for the room, I was told that their "card reader" didn't work. How do you run a business without having the equipment needed to accomodate paying customers??? The last straw came when a man; let's call him the day-shift manager for now, came up with a truly risky suggestion: C'mon, I'll take you to a nearby ATM, and you can get the cash to pay your bill. I'm not a world-class traveler, but I know enough to know that this isn't how business is done! I immediately told the man and his "staff" that I wasn't going to stay there. I asked to be taken to another hotel. The day-shift mananger was visably upset, but did as I asked. I checked my account a few days later and learned that money was taken from my account and paid to the Hamilton Hotel; which was quite a negative surprise to me since they said they didn't have a card reader. I guess that means I was lied to AND robbed!!

We stayed here 2 nights and again a week later for one night. We came with no reservation but they were very welcoming. When we returned a week later, we received a discount for staying there again. Breakfast is included.

I stayed at Hamilton 4 times in the following years. I have to say it's getting worse and worse.
At the check inn, I should pay, even though I had already made a payment through the booking platform. There was an endless discussion.
Towels were not even available in the room. I had to wait two hours until I got any. To be able to take a shower after the flight, I had to dry off with a TShirt !!!
No one speaks English in the hotel. I can not understand why in a hotel where international guests stay only Spanish is spoken.
As a guest you do not feel welcome. The staff does not greet, never smile. You always have the feeling of disturbing the employees when they are busy with their smartphones.
Although I had booked for 2 people, I should pay for the second breakfast or a second breakfast was not served. I should even pay for an extra coffee. Absolutely unprofessional!
While I was having breakfast, with the mop was being cleaned around me. Also under my table and my feet. I've never experienced anything so unprofessional!
In the outdoor area much has been redesigned and renewed. However, the rooms are old, run down and dirty.
Actually, it could be a nice hotel if the owner would value courteous staff and invest some money in renovating the rooms and bathrooms.
At the moment I can not recommend the hotel for the price!

I do not recommend it. The rooms have a bad smell, the pillows are dirty and some have no covers. There is no elevator to take luggage up, the price of the food is very expensive and it is not good. Outside there is a casino, so there is a lot of noise, drunks, drug addicts and women offering sexual services.
