This is a little gem of a hotel. It is family owned and it shows. The staff was always there to help with anything. It's basically located across the street from the beaches and restaurants. We were able to just walk the beaches, get drinks, go to the supermarket, go to the local gym (planet fitness), fish markets, local food stalls, and rent a boat for the day at the local marina. The hotel helped us rent a nice boat for the day for $300. We sat on a little was out off the beach and had a great day. Hotel is also very close to Santo Domingo for a day trip in as long as you go in off hours, because traffic around here can be crazy. The restaurants in this area are fantastic, albeit a little expensive for Dominican standards. But the restaurant right across the street (Neptunos) really was a great all day place to eat and swim and relax. I think this has to be one of the best deals in the area based on proximity to beaches, restaurants, good area, and super close to the airport.

PLEASE DONT BOOK THIS LOCATION WITHOUT READING THIS REVIEW FIRST. My husband, our niece and nephew and I stood here for a weekend in August 2020 and visually its a nice place. We stood on the first floor and the manager thought it was ok for her to come into the apartment after the fact that she gave us the rundown of the apartment already. You have to pay extra for the gas, you're paying what ever it is she tells you utilized. The icing on the cake was this lady the manager accused us of stealing towels which made really pissed off because I paid my money to go there and since it was an apartment we brought our own towels, which we opened up and showed the manager so she can see the towel weren't the same as the ones in the apartments. We told her no towels were put in one of the rooms to which she said that the cleaning personnel did and we argued back in forth until I got in the car and we left. The place is nice don't get me wrong but im too grown to steal. The pool is nice but the manager isn't professional AT ALL ! There was a tv in one of the bed rooms and in the living room which was black and white until my husband fixed it, they want you to turn off the Ac's to conserve light in 90 degree weather. If you stay on the first floor all you hear is the managers voice all through out the night.

Totally disappointed with this hotel. Annually I travel to the Dominican Republic 3 and 4 times and for the first time I stay here and I do not recommend it. The parking gentleman acted in a hostile way and even shouted (only because he was with some friends and the only thing he wanted was to make a change to the previous reservation he had made). They could never solve me since at that time there was no staff in the reception area. Faced with this situation, I asked to speak with the owner of the hotel, and they indicated that I was a lady, who finally turned out to be the supervisor of the place (they lied to me) and they did not want to give me the information to make the general complaint. The only person who treated me kindly was the secretary, but she could not help me since the supervisor was above her. A part of that I had to pay for what was in the mini bar when this man from the parking had indicated that it was included. The situation was so bad taste that I had to stay at the Hotel Be Live La Hamaca

Cash price is $50/night; credit card price is $59/night. Fifty a night is reasonable, but fifty-nine is overpriced. Decent-sized room with decent bathroom. Good WiFi. Good A/C. Strong ceiling fan. Minifridge. Good shower pressure with plenty of hot water. Not conveniently located--you'll be walking to get to the restaurants, banks, Lavender is, etc. Staff is OK. Good breakfast offered for 200 pesos onsite. Boca Chica is just awful. If you have an early flight, I get staying here, but if I knew how bad Boca Chica was, I'd have stayed in Santo Domingo and gotten up earlier to get to the airport...

We stayed here for a golf weekend and thoroughly enjoyed the place. Small apartment hotel close to restaurants and shops. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Our room was clean and comfortable. The staff serving breakfast were so friendly and kind. We would stay here again.

Opted to stay at Neptuno’s Refugio after striking out on a few other hotels around the island. Had looked at the reviews briefly and decided that as a last minute choice this would fit the bill. Overall, the hotel is very quaint. Not exactly super modern but not completely run down. I elected to take the apartment style room. The living room area was nice but wound up using it for my luggage because there was little room in the bedroom. The bathroom was spacious but the shower was a little dated. In the bedroom, the two twin beds joined together was somewhat of an oddity but for me it wasn’t a big deal. The only issue was that the two twin beds put together gave you little to no room to maneuver, henceforth why I opted to put my luggage in the living room. There is a tiny TV in the bedroom, but I don't go on vacation to watch TV. The dining area had seating and a functional fridge. I didn't use the silverware or the appliances in the kitchen area but for those traveling with family, it's a great option. The balcony space was really nice. I didn’t go to the pool area but had a great view of the small pool from my balcony. Tried the breakfast one day and it was quite decent. But then again, I’m Dominican and mangu w/ salami, fried cheese and egg is an easy meal and even easier to make. The hotel goes well with the area. It’s within walking distance to the beach, restaurants and the main shopping area. The area it’s in, Boca Chica, is not exactly where I’d recommend for families but you do get a good number of families there. There is free parking and there’s a guard in the evenings. Check-in and check-out was fast and efficient and the staff, the small number we encountered, were quite friendly. I would definitely stay there again.

Well , I stood 5 days prices went up , I paid $320 for those day , after I booked it on travel city they said 212$ . Also now they charge for gas if u have a kitchen in ur room. Not cool they also charge you if you want the Minnie bar , which is 4 bottle of wAter beer & coke . Not worth it at all. Room had a broken lock on the terrace & when I left it did not get fix .. 😟🤦🏾‍♀️disappointed .. looking for a different hotel next time ..!

I picked Refugios on line and as a result of We had a simple room at the back of the hotel on 3rd floor. We had a king bed which was nice although the bed was a bit hard . We checked in and the staff was friendly. the hotel property was very nice with foilage and passion fruit vines over breakfast area. The whole property had a european feel. The only problem in room was the electrical on one side of room did not work. Upon checking out I informed the front staff. They were not aware of it. All in all I would definetly stay here again and at 50 dollars a night it was well worth it.

Location: Good place, walking distance to the beach and different restaurants. Near to the airport and good location to request taxi services. Service: Do not recommended for people who would arrive late at night. The reception may be closed. Room or apartment: nice views depending on which you are set. Most of them with a balcony to the beach side or pool side.

I booked this reading the reviews on Tripadvisor and I was really happy with my decision. Across from the beach and down the block from really good restaurants. I really liked the location and definitely would be back.
