Well worth stopping half way between Sydney and Melbourne. Stunning bush location - birds, animals, wildflowers and fishing all accessible. Friendly and caring onsite owners and team. Comfortable rooms. Self catering cottages perfect for fisher-people who want to stay on the water in the evening. Cooking for yourself gives you the flexibility to come and go when you want -...

We stayed in this beautiful location 35 years ago and it stayed in our memory so gave it another go this week at very short notice. We were not disappointed - the owners Brendan and Galinda have only been there two months but are already well into upgrading to a fantastic destination providing total relaxation and great Aussie service. Its...

About 12 lodges overlooking the lake. Outstanding facilities. Lodges have jacuzzi and washer drier. Lounge, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom. Patio with sun loungers and table. Continental breakfast brought to lodge. Can buy ready cooked meals prepared by on site chef. Excellent quality. Staff helpful and pleasant. Would loved to have stayed longer.

We stayed for five nights in one of the cottages. Beds and bathroom facilities are very good and the kitchen is fully equipped for most cooking needs. The present hosts live nearby and are not intrusive but very helpful if needed. The wildlife around the complex is wonderful and walking trails abound within a few kilometres but be careful of walking...

Although expensive, our one night stay here en route from Sydney to Melbourne was worth every dollar. Our river-facing lodge with verandah was the perfect place to listen to the numerous birds calling and swooping overhead. Kangaroos grazed the lawns below and the whole place had the feel of being laid back and totally relaxed. Our open-plan lodge was spacious...

Our daughter and her husband had stayed here 10 years ago and really recommended it to us. We thought it may be a little run down after 10 years but it was just perfect. Our unit was great, had lots of room and a wonderful view. There are a few good walks from the lodge. We would definitely stay here...

Although the website suggests motel-style accomodation I was told they are no longer doing single rooms... It's frustrating when providers don't keep websites updated with prices, services etc. Otherwise why have a website really?

Without doubt, our stay here was the highlight of our Melbourne to Sydney road trip. We learnt, at a later stop along our route, that a couple from Wales had booked to stay here and on arrival, had taken one look at it and decided that it was a dump and promptly departed. What foolishness!!. If they had stayed they...

We have just had another lovely stay at the Gipsy Point Lodge but it is changing. I understand that from now on it will be self catering with a minimum booking of 3 rooms for a stay of 3 nights. It won't be the same but it would be a wonderful spot for a family group or group of friends...

Gipsy Point is a very special place. It is not a seaside town but a small settlement looking out on the rivers and lakes above Mallacoota. There are no shops and almost no mobile phone reception. It is somewhere to go to really get away from the hustle and busle. We have been coming to the Gipsy Point lodge regularly...
