Excellent, After covid19 opening 1st day we stay there. Staff behavior ver nice. Food quality fine, variety minimum, because 1st day, Safety measures very good. Nobody can enter room, our visit also restricted as per government norms. Sanitizer every places saw, mask compulsory for gust and all staffs wear mask and hand gloves.

This Place is amazing and the room was excellent the view was very beautiful. The food was very tasty and the most beautiful part is the swimmingpool, it was kept very neat and clear. the stadf was very coutious and very reponsible the were always available to serve us anytime.

the location of the resort is just so amazing, gives the feel of a luxurious and pleasant stay , with such a beautiful ambience, amazing rooms, always smiling staff, and most importantly the courteousness of all, from the boat men to the manager was really what add to the pleasure and enjoyment of our stay. the food that was dished out was always nutritious and mouth watering, compliments to the chef for their tireless efforts. would love to visit theresort again soon in the future.....

I stayed with my wife for two days in this resort and let me tell you honestly the resort did not give me a single reason to like it. Bad room service, badly maintained rooms and additional wait time for jetties. They provided us with room with broken TV and since we were not into watching it we ignored it. At the time of checkout they accused us of breaking the TV and argued. Food is too costly and the ambience needs a proper cleaning.

We were a group of 46 couples celebrating the annual day of our college Alumni , over 2 nights. we arrived at the car park / private boat jetty where the resort boats were waiting to ferry us . The 15 min boat ride was scenic through the back waters. On arrival, buggies promptly ferried our luggage while we walked to the reception through a well manicured garden pathway, At the reception we were greeted with welcome drinks by Dinesh, the front office manager, Since we had sent in our ID copies in advance the resort had done a pre check in for us, and we lost no time in getting the room keys. Only a fe of us had to wait for 30 mins as some guests took time in checking out, but it was okay to sit in the open lobby. The rooms were well appointed with all facilities and the pool was large with a beer bar built into one side. Breakfast had plenty of selection in both veg and non veg options, The lunch and dinner were tasty and of good quality with a huge choice of dishes. The starters were made live next to the conference hall and it was served piping hot. The resort also had an activity center, a well appointed Gym and their own free boat ride to the beach , across the water way. On the whole one of the best resorts in Poovar, worth visiting. Their GM, Mr Jaykumar was very pro active and made sure every need of ours was attended to promptly. I would recomment this resort to anyone who loves a quality vacation

Prior to our check in on sep 20, we were asked to share the details of vacination and Aadhar card as part of limited contact protocol maintained due to covid.
Got all the necessary information about the resort, including location map, indoor and outdoor activities and timing as also contact details of the F&B manager. Swimming pool and Ayurvedic center were inoperative.
We were asked to confirm our arrival time half hour prior to arrange for the boat service to the resort. The boat was waiting on our arrival at the boat jetty; the short 15 minutes boat ride was an incredible experience indeed.
With minimal check in formalities, we were escorted to our cottage. The hammock placed in the cottage was inviting... Since the AC was switched on prior to our arrival, the entry into the room was a pleasant experience. gesture to It's a cosy room with lot of wooden furniture and flooring giving it a distinguished look and feel.
After settling down, we had a lazy walk around the property and were suitably impressed by the landscape, flowering plants and the view of the sea. Quite a few indoor activities (chess carrom library table tennis etc) are available to spend your time. Gym was suitably impressive.
You get good view of the beach sitting in strategically placed hammocks and benches Lots of designated Selfie points engages ones time and attention !
A short 2 minute ride from the property takes you to the beach.
Back to the property to view the setting sun which was mesmerizing to say the least.
Morning walk around the resort was calm albeit subjected to bird's chirping :) Complimentary breakfast was sumptuous.
The only problem we faced was the slightly slow response time to couple of service requests.
Overall quality of the stay was excellent. Special thanks to Alfred for offering us a special rate !

During my visit to Trivandrum in the 2017, I thought of staying at Poovar Island Resort. This came true during my recent visit to Kanyakumari. While browsing hotels to stay I came across a deal and leapt for that. After reaching Poovar Island Resort boarding point, I was thrilled to know that boat ride is must to reach resort. Need not to say upon reaching resort -traditional Indian welcome was given with a welcome drink. And yes my stay was upgraded from land hut to floating hut, which I was always wanted. But because of fear which my better half retains for water bodies I could not opt for that. Charming and very friendly behavior of staff convinced my better half to opt for upgradation and Volla she agreed. Floating huts provides personalized view of Golden beach and Sunset while sitting in the comfort of Air conditioner and eating delicacies provided by the in house restra at very reasonable price. I am sure lots of efforts have been put into making Poovar Island resort a Green Heaven. I thanks resort and its staff to keep it plastic free at large. I ends my review with the hope to visit Poovar Island Resort again in future along with kids.

The floating room with backwater view in this resort, is one of the most unique stays that u might not want to miss with your better half. Well its not just backwater view, but ur entire room is floating on it, and u can feel the slight movement of ur room, especially at night during high tides or when u stand out on the balcony. The privacy that u get at nights in the balcony is unmatched. Due to covid restrictions not many people were there in the resort, so we had all the resort for ourselves. And the hospitality of the staffs starting from the boat driver to the receptionist or the restaurant manager was exceptional. They were so polite and down to earth and make u feel very special. They even agreed for 3 hour early check in! The only con that i found was the cost of the food. The quality of the food is good but the cost is too damn high. Plane white rice cost 150rs and fish curry is 500. Of u want other side gravies u have to order separately, each cost u around 250. Since u have no other option to have food in this island u have to eat from their restaurant. But other than that i dont have any complaints at all. Backwater boat ride of one hour duration is available from resort for 1800rs per boat which is cheaper than outside price 2500. Its a must activity u have to do here, and preferably should be scheduled at morning or dusk. They operate from 7am to 5pm and u can book the boat ride from the reception. Overall amazing experience in this resort. Would definitely recommend it to everyone.

The resort has great location and need to use boat to move out of resort. It’s quite large and lot to do inside the resort. They have swings and hammocks all over the resort and in the room balcony. Food is good and buffet range is nice. The sunset bar named kappa is usually not manned and service is slow, however you can get the best sunset view. Kids have many options to keep themselves busy During our stay resort was organising Live shows in the evening( kathak, Marshall art etc) Room are showing age. And need repair eg. the main door handle was non functional, bathroom exhaust and many lights were non functional, mattresses need replacement, rooms need refurbishment However overall good place to be with kids

This complex is in a lovely location, where the backwaters meet the sea in Kerala The brochure and everything that was written about this resort named three restaurants and a coffee bar, including a floating restaurant on the beach which didn’t exist The rooms were spacious but very shabby. Our spa bath leaked badly and had to be fixed three times All the chairs on the resort were tired and dirty from dining room to poolside, where the pool towels were stained and threadbare, tables broken and old The lighting at night around the resort was very poor with many lights broken and not working The staff are wonderful and can’t do enough for you, but with a little bit of tlc this resort could be wonderful The main restaurant served both buffet food and a la carte, which was very good and reasonably priced. Service was very slow This resort is a lovely place to stay but 4 star in India is a very loose reflection of luxury It lacks any finesse There was a bbq area but wasn’t in use
