I had finalized to stay in Hotel Basera Vrindavan after being totally confused reading reviews. I was not very sure about this hotel but it impressed me totally. The location is very good, opposite to Fogla Ashram. I stayed at room no 204, 1st Floor. The room is quite large, with a fenced balcony. The room has carpet, centre table, two bed side table, two chairs, one cup board, one dressing table. Also there is a LCD TV& AC. The washroom is also spacious with geyser, basin etc. Fresh shaving kit, tooth brush& paste, comb & hair oil alongwith soap, shampoo, body-lotion and fresh towels (2+2) were also provided in the toilet. We also enjoyed the complementary breakfast with poha, parantha, toast & adrakwali chai. We had our lunch & dinner here. They have a veg-restaurant, where you can take lunch /dinner beside having room service (it cost 10% extra as service charges). We had lunch & dinner there. Navratna korma was the best dish. Please try it. The price of food items are on higher side with respect to quantity & quality. The hotel staffs are good and courteous. Overall this hotel satisfied me within this budget and I would like to stay here in future.

Before reaching vrindavan i was under the impression that i will have to stay in some budgeted dharamsala as the trip was rather an unorganised one but after reaching i found this HOTEL with modern facility comfortable stay and reasonable price.Centrally located with ISKCON temple on one side and Shri BAKE BIHARI Ji temple on the other.Good parking facility and room service with delicious Indian food without pure ISKCON food.
You can walk to ISKCON temple in the morning to attend Mangla Aarti .Overall the trip was great.

I recently stayed here with my wife and our stay was very pleasent. The hotel is about 10 mins walk from Iskon Temple on one side and 10 mins by rickshaw to the other famous temple in Vrindavan Baanke Bihari temple.

The rooms were very spacious and clean with an A/C, fridge, a flat screen TV and DTH they even had a mosquito repelent (small thing but considerable) The bathroom was very clean with neat towels. Overall we were every happy with the room quality for the price we paid.

They have a restaurant in the hotel although we didn't eat there, there is car parking available inside the hotel premises and also an ATM outside the hotel. If your traveling by car I suggest you park it in the hotel and travel by rickshaw as parking is big problem in Vrindavan

Dont miss the Aarti (prayer) in Iskon (evening 7 pm - reach by 6:30) and the food in MVT restaurant behind Iskon Temple. Prem temple is another beautiful temple in Vrindavan they have a fountain show in the evening at 7pm..

It was a sudden planned trip. Had no prior booking and went in directly. Good ashram like Fogla etc were full house. Landed here accidently while searching for stay. Very very basic rooms, dharamshalas are better. There was no water, no set topbox in room. Had to call for everything. AC wasnt working properly. It kept resetting to 30 deg. Hotel gave some stupid reason that is showing room temp. Why is it showing room temp at 30 when temp set is 24.? The manager at night was rude, was shouting when I complained about AC. He said to me 'Sir AC aise he chalte hain, mae ladka bhej deta hun wo aapko samjha dega ki AC kiase chalta h'. He said this while shouting at me. Very unprofessional and arrogant.

I thought of just passing the night somehow and checked out the very next morning. Will never ever go again.

I would like to thank the Manager Mr. CP Verma and every staff at the hotel. I had stayed there for 7 nights from the 16 January 2012 to 23 January 2012. So people staying at the hotel for 8 days is like you should have a nice place to stay especially very clean one. In vrindavan, it is tough to get a place to stay for foreigners. I was surprised to notice that there are so many on-going projects in Vrindavan as they know each year the number of foreigners visiting the Land of LORD KRISHNA are increasing. Therefore, while searching for a hotel on the net, i came across this hotel. It was the best hotel i had stayed esp in Vrindavan and the rates also is good. And the best part of it, in the restaurant they do not use garlics and onions and that also attracts lots of Iskcon Devotees. The room service was very nice and the room also was nice. There was also a terrace attached, and as there are lots of monkeys the terrace was protected with metallic grill. So you could at least now know you are protected from monkeys when you are in the room. I had my breakfast, lunch and dinner at the restaurant downstairs and i had excellent food. The staffs working at the hotel was very friendly and also the security. The best part of it is that i have come to see many marriages and it was so beautiful despite there was some noises but it does not disturb us at all. So if you are visiting vrindavan in this period of the year, you should expect to see that and also some noises at night. Even if you stay any other hotel, you will not be able to run away from this. And this is what we call India, 24 hours they keep on working and horns of vehicles every second. The hotel was close to the Iskcon Temple and other interesting places in Vrindavan. I would come again to stay at Basera Hotel and would recommend it to other people and friends. Thanks.

Regards,
Kavi

Ignore the first photo above, it is not from this hotel. The other photos are accurate except that we did not have any pot plants in our room. The room was pretty clean compared to other places I stayed in India. Just some dust and grime, nothing major apart from the floor mats which were so filthy I had to put them out on the balcony. The hotel is on the main street, a fairly noisy area generally, but the worst thing was the wedding receptions held most nights in the basement function room of the hotel. The music was so loud it vibrated up through the marble floors and the bed and right into your bones. One night there was an extra special treat of really bad drummers and trumpet players in the driveway outside our window for several hours. The second worst thing was the shower, which was in the middle of the bathroom between the toilet and basin. It had no drain hole or rim around it and no screen. We did not even try to use it, as it was obvious that water would have just gone everywhere, leaving the floor all wet to then be tramped all around the room. We purchased buckets, wash cloths and floor drying cloths to use instead. At least there was hot water on tap and the power was reliable. The bed was extremely uncomfortable with a mattress like a slab of concrete and pillow like cotton wool that gave your neck no support. The food from the restaurant was nice and the staff were friendly and helpful once you worked on them a bit. The security men out the front were very friendly and cheery. Despite the website advertising internet as being available, it apparently is only available to the administrative staff! We had to negotiate for quite some time before the manager finally agreed to give us the password and it could only work on one of our devices. It cost a bit extra, about Rs500 a day. Also, think twice about having any white clothes washed here, as they come back wrapped in newspaper with black ink marks on the cloth.

Other than the weddings, it was probably no worse than many other places in Vrindavan, and probably better than many. The price was cheap, but I would rather pay more and have a comfortable bed and a shower. However, I'm not sure if there is any accommodation in Vrindavan that meets that description.

I have visited Vrindavan several times and have invariably stayed in most of the hotels that exist in Vrindavan and having said that, I can safely say that Hotel Basera is by far the best hotel yet in Vrindavan. The location of the hotel is just right, as both, the ISKCON temple as well as temples like Shri Banke Bihari ji are well within reach. If coming from Delhi, you will first pass ISKCON temple, then further down on the same Raman Reti Road towards Bankebihariji Temple, on the right hand side, you will see this brand new three storey hotel.
The hotel is brand new (understand inaugurated in 2011), with a nice large granite flooring lobby. There is ample free parking available in the hotel compound. There is a common driver’s room where the drivers can stay overnight, shower etc without any extra charge. Good security as well. All rooms are more or less of the same size. My room on the second floor had a nice balcony as well (though not much of view from the balcony as such). Decent sized lift took us to our room on the second floor. There was LCD television in the room, nice split aircon, mini refrigerator (with complimentary packed drinking water bottle), even toiletries and bathroom slippers, (which was a pleasant surprise.). The room was nice and large, with a queen sized double bed, and was absolutely clean. Sheets, towel and linen were brand new of course. A small table and couple of chairs were useful as well. There was running hot water as well. The best part was that there was power back up and even my aircon and TV were working when the power went off. The power generator was not making noise. This un- disrupted supply of power was much appreciated and welcomed.
Mr. Verma, the General Manager of the hotel was very helpful and took us to a nice tour of the hotel, and the rooms on the ground floor and of course the restaurant “ Krishna Bhog” in the lower lobby level. We had lunch at Krishna Bhog, which has North Indian and Chinese cuisine. It was interesting to note that garlic and onion were not used at all in the restaurant. The North Indian items we had for lunch were nice and homely giving pure feeling. Again the restaurant was squeaky clean. Breakfast is also served here, though we left early the next day and could not try the same. No alcohol available of course. The restaurant though in the lower lobby level is well lit with well placed large natural light windows. There was a basement banquet hall as well.
The 24 hours in room service and as such the service in the hotel was good. The staff was more than eager to help and made our stay comfortable and seemed to be well trained and experienced. Some spoke reasonably good English as well.
The tariff is reasonable – good value for money and the service and rooms very good. The stay was nice and homely. I sincerely hope they maintain the property and the service level and certainly I would continue to stay at this place. Understand that the place tends to get full on the weekends though, so would suggest checking out availability on the weekends.

Good hotel, not so good experience ...

Good location, neat rooms, good room service .. But all rooms on ground floor are very badly positioned so that door opens directly to reception (and all common access) .. There was marriage parties on both days of stay, which made whole stay very noisy .. Also, the bed is not very comfortable either ..

We stayed here for a little over a day. Ordered food from the hotel. Got served with nice thalis and the family quite liked it. Location is decently close to the main temple. Only downside we felt that the lodging rates were a tad higher given rates in other hotels nearby.
