We had read some poor reviews about this hotel so arrived with some concerns. However the welcome from Emilio made us feel right at home and the spacious rooms with great views are ideal. All a bit dark with the wooden chalet feel but clean and comfortable. We didn't eat here so can't comment on food.

We stayed on the top of the hill. Huge room, big beds, big TV, nice view. Nice staff. Breakfast was okey. A short walk to the reception, or you could call the front desk and ask for a pickup. We did not try the restaurant, it looked booring.

Stayed for 3 nights in December. The rooms were decent, had plenty of space and the beds were comfortable enough. Sounds like a few other people had the same problems we did with limited hot water. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful in setting up excursions for us and recommending restaurants. That being said, if you stay in Monteverde,...

First of all no TV or phone. Liked the room and surrounding though. Very nice breakfast. Nice friendly people. If you want to use the spa, you have to notify 2 hours in advance. No activities on site or nearby. Couple of restaurants nearby, otherwise you have to walk a bit to go to town. Hot water was not working,...

We were assigned rooms in the top of the hill with great views. The room was large with 2 king beds, very nice firm beds and pillows. But it was a hard trek up the hill to the room and the room did not have even a coffee machine. The phone system was not working the first day we stayed...

We stay 3 nights here in December. For some reason we were led to believe this was a "luxury" resort which it is not. The room we had was large and nice looking with 2 king size beds with threadbare sheets and no mattress pads, it was kind of gross. Hot water was limited and a gamble. There is no...

We took a trip to Monteverde, Costa Rica in mid-July of 2012. We stayed at the Hotel Heliconia and were treated so nice by all the employees. We had dinner at the hotels's restaurant that was great! They have a stone pizza oven that made the best pizza ever!!!! They lack a little with their free breakfast but if you...

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel in May and thought it was great. We had the large family suite and found it totally comfortable. Lots of room, very spacious with enclosed patio, balcony, TV, hair dryer and very clean and in good shape. While the décor is not what I would choose for my home, it was very clean...

I have to be honest we were coming from La Fortuna and spent the night in a fantastic hotelso it was hard to live up to those standards. The service is exceptional. Friendly staff and very helpful - absolutely no troubles there. Probably the...

This is a basic nice hotel with fantastic views of the countryside. We stayed in a room on the second level which had a nice balcony for relaxing. Hotel is located near the Monteverde cloud forest preserve and rain forests which we toured. Stayed here for two nights. My daughter and I were thankful we brought our portable hair dryer...
