We stayed at the Hotel El Bosque for our entire visit to Monteverde. The accommodations are basic, but this is by design. In terms of dollar value, this was an excellent choice. Although not a "Hotel" as the name suggests, the semi-attached cabin type rooms serve their purpose. The rooms do not have air conditioning, and are sparsely furnished. So...

As others have said this is a fairly basic level of accommodation but its clean, the breakfast was good and its in a decent location for the parks. The rooms are quite spacious, but ours seemed to lack any electric sockets other than in the bathroom which seemed odd...made it a bit difficult charging ipads, phones cameras etc over the...

Hi Tim, Thanks for your feedback. We will put signs for people not to feed the monkeys, etc. I will also talk to the guys at the Night Tour, trails are open all day until 5pm. After 5pm it's dangerous to go in and get lost in the dark so that will need to continue. There are sockets but you...

The rooms here are very basic, but the price, location, helpful staff, and interesting wildlife more than make up for that detail. My friend and I stayed for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Located in the quaint village of Monteverde, the hotel is within walking distance of two wonderful restaurants (Italian and Argentinian cuisine) and the best view of...

Not sure if people are ranking Monteverde itself or this hotel itself. Monteverde is amazing this hotel is not. But first let me also say that the hotel staff was amazing, pleasant and very helpful but it does not remove the fact that rooms are horrible. If this was dropped in the middle of any other city or national park,...

Hello huey21, Thanks for your honesty. Hotel El Bosque is not for everyone. And I am sorry your neighbors were loud. Unfortunately this can happen anywhere... The construction of our hotel is way better than the vast majority of accommodations in the area (just look for comments about noise on many other establishments and you will see what I mean...)....

Family with adult daughter planned birthday stop here. Night walk with tarantula bats birds and more. Followed with memorable dinner at Italian restaurant near by. Attentive service included birthday dessert with candle! Great staff at both places. Good coffee nearby. Will definitely return and recommend. Basic lodging with hair dryer and hot shower.

We spent the last two nights of our time in Costa Rica at this gem near the Reserva Biologica Bosque Nuboso. The staff were very helpful. The room was clean, ample and affordable. The grounds were very large with many trails weaving around the hills and slopes in that area, well groomed too, obviously raked from time to time. Lots...

I took my 14-year-old son and 11-year-old daughter to El Bosque for a week, and we all three loved it! The property is lovely. The rooms are basic--just beds, desk, and bathroom--but perfectly adequate and comfortable. The guys at the front desk were helpful. They called us taxis and even ordered us pizza a couple of times. We enjoyed our...

We spent three nights at Hotel El Bosque. We chose this place because of room rates & the reviews. It was DIFFERENT for sure.. Needs A LOT of updating but the employees were very helpful & kind. The rooms were clean & there was a really good Italian restaurant, a coffee shop & a bakery near the hotel. They serve...

Hi Melissa, Thanks for your feedback. As you mention, our rates are significantly lower than our competition. Our rooms are certainly simple, however, they provide a very good price/quality ratio. In that perspective, would you please share your feedback on specific areas where we can improve? (info@hotelelbosquecr.com) (Again, considering our rates :) Cheers, Daniel Lalinde

This was a perfect place for us. From the first moment of check-in at the front desk until we checked out of El Bosque, Josh and Joshua, both went out of their way to help us plan our stay in Monteverde. We only had two days in the area, and we wanted to experience it all. Josh immediately made reservations...

We recently stayed at Hotel El Bosque for two nights and it was great. The hotel itself is basic, but there was hot water and a bed and a quite night.
