Stayed in Room 209 the sliding glass door opened up to a grassy hill with lovely views of trees; however it also faced a main road where three wheelers and cars make for lots of noise. The rooms above all have balconies. The maids speak absolutely no English. Luckily I speak some Spanish so we finally connected regarding turning on...

This hotel is one of the best option you can have in the town of Mote Verde. We were there for a night and had a full day of adventure on the first day. This hotel is situated on a very steep hill. Even if you fit it will take some effort to walk up to your room. Our room...

In my room, not only was the old, frayed and filthy carpet uneven and poorly laid-it is a definite trip hazard. There was poor lighting and unpleasant noise 24/7. My room was at the top of 4 flights of stairs-the only light @ the top of the stairs did not work so, navigating them either up or down, after sundown...

Arriving at El Establo was almost like finding an oasis in the desert. Following our GPS, we spent several miles on one of the roughest public roads I've been on, then suddenly you pull into a small town with paved roads. When we arrived at the hotel, we suggested we must have come the wrong way, but they assured us...

The room is really big and great. We had the highest floor. Note that there is no air conditioning in the room but you can get a fan. The room was not that clean as I expected and didn't have a good smell. I think this is something they must improve. Also the breakfast restaurant is very crowded.. If you...

A 15 min walk out of town(up hill) but great views if you get a high room with a balcony. The hotel is large & set in blocks up the hillside. Mini vans zap around regularly to run guest to & fro on the hotel but not into town. Breakfast is basic in a large noisy uninspiring cafeteria with a...

Nice big modern rooms, no A/C . Good food, great view. Great hiking trails behind hotel that go up mountain. Pool is not heated. Cools down at night as you are at about 5,000 ft. Stay here and then do day trips.Lots to do in Monteverde.

The rooms themselves are very large, and ours had a beautiful view. However it felt like there wasn't enough light in the room at night, especially in the shower. There were small glass panels in our bathroom that connected the bathroom to the hallway. You could open and close them (I'm assuming for some light, or to let humidity escape),...

Set on a steep hill, it is too far for most people to walk from the reception and breakfast room at street level at the bottom to the rooms at the top, but a shuttle bus is available on request. The buildings which house the rooms are very strange with dark corridors. However the rooms are adequate and comfortable. Nothing...

As I look out of the window the view is stunning and the room is huge. However... hotel is sad and somewhat neglected, rooms have very poor lighting as do the outside paths, minimal information on the complex unless you speak Spanish, restaurant is ok but slow and expensive, staff are a bit surly. There are nice restaurants nearby, but...
