We mostly ate at Restaurant Celajes during our stay at Belmar. The food was always great and not particularly expensive. There was a pretty good range of options, from simpler sandwiches to fancier entrees. Just FYI: A lot of the other restaurants in the area aren't necessarily centered in downtown Santa Elena but rather spread out throughout the Monteverde area. So even if you stayed "in town," driving or taking a taxi would probably still be necessary. We walked between the hotel and town, but in July I'd imagine it wouldn't be so pleasant...
