We stayed 4 days here. The accommodations are clean and adequate but a good, hilly walk, through the rain forest from the main building. Do not forget your flashlight, boots and umbrella! Once there, the view and wildlife you will see from your balcony is unparalleled, you are truly in the rainforest! There are many talks, walks and seminars to...

This place is absolutely amazing! If you are a nature lover, you HAVE to go. This place is peaceful, quiet and all the people and guides have a lot of knowledge of the area. But dont tell everyone.. Dont like this place to be spoiled. Be aware: if you are looking for alcohol and big parties.. This place is not...

If you are looking to explore the wonders of biodiversity in Costa Rica, staying here is a must. The activities (most of which are included in the price) will help you understand the country and are all very interesting. We travelled as a family and there were plenty of activities for all age groups. The 'Naturalists' (mostly university graduates interning)...

Just a shout out that this is a great place to experience Costa Rica. It would make for a great school trip! We went as 3 families of 4 with elementary age kids and all had a nice time. We enjoyed guided night walks with educational specialists, attended a class on bugs which gave us (or our kids rather) a...

The room was Clean and had a small Kitchen which had wonderful coffee. The beds were not the best comfort wise, but were clean. There was a small hike on the premises and the grounds were beautiful. The Staff were very helpful and spoke english very well. They had a Hydroponic Garden that they allowed you to eat from during...

We (myself, wife and kids of 6 and 9) went into this not knowing what to expect. We were blown away by the experience. The campus itself is a great location, with just about a perfect balance between comfort and integration into the amazing landscape around it. The logistics are excellent. The trails and local activities are plentiful. But what...

Staying at Ecolodge San Luis/University of Georgia is a unique experience that we highly recommend for anyone. It is great value for the money as all meals and onsite activities are included. After arriving, we had an orientation with a staff member to find out our interests. The staff then set up a night hike, an early morning cow milking...

We just enjoyed the most wonderful week! Two adults and our adult son on leave from a project in Nicaragua found the perfect mix of hiking, learning and just hanging out with staff and other guests. Staff is comprised of full time, enthusiastic, extraordinarily well trained young people who volunteer their time for 6-month internships and go out of their...

This is a beautiful and quiet setting, very near the Monteverde Cloud Forest, where our family – two adults and two adult daughters - had a wonderful time. The staff at this UGA field station helped us choose an itinerary of local activities that suited our interests. These included a tour of the Cloud Forest, hiking and zip-lining, a tour...

I visited San Luis Ecolodge with my family in December 2015. We stayed for one week in one of the cabinas and really enjoyed our time there. We were focused on bird watching, and were able to see dozens of species just around the Ecolodge itself, and many more in the nearby Monteverde reserve. There were wonderful short talks on...
