Phenomenal experience for our family (2 girls ages 7 and 8)! We enjoyed our 5 days at San Luis Ecolodge and all learned so much. The girls were completely engaged and loved interacting with the naturalists. We usually did activities in the morning and evening at the lodge and went into Monteverde during the day for a hike or different...

Our high expectations were exceeded during our stay at the UGACR Ecolodge. Simple but clean rooms with rich wood finish, bathroom lit by an expansive skylight, and a beautiful central building with large mess hall and simple but tasty and healthy food. However, what really stood out were the people. Daniel Leiton, the manager of the facility, made us feel...

Ecolodge San Luis is run by the Universithy of Georgia. It is a great place to stay because scientists are there to help run tours as well as do their research. Rooms include three meals a day eaten family style with other guests and naturalist staff. There are student groups studying as well as families and couples and friends. There...

We loved our stay at Ecolodge San Luis. It was the perfect place to start our trip becuase the naturalists taught us so much about the plants and animals. Our kids were fascinated by the creatures we saw - a troop of monkeys swung through the trees behind our cabin -- and even got to see a Tarantula up close....

You will never have enough days here. The kids will love the talks, hikes and even milking a cow. I have learned a lot about being responsible to the environment and some ways we can improve our lives and business back home. A 4 wheel is a good idea so that you can easily venture into Santa Elena for meals,...

3 meals a day, your own bungalow with a porch to watch the hummingbirds, trails and FREE guided experiences -- what is not to like? This is a wonderful place to walk and to learn about Costa Rica and sustainability. We had to leave early in the morning before breakfast and were given a sack meal for our journey. Now...

We stayed 4 days here. The accommodations are clean and adequate but a good, hilly walk, through the rain forest from the main building. Do not forget your flashlight, boots and umbrella! Once there, the view and wildlife you will see from your balcony is unparalleled, you are truly in the rainforest! There are many talks, walks and seminars to...

This place is absolutely amazing! If you are a nature lover, you HAVE to go. This place is peaceful, quiet and all the people and guides have a lot of knowledge of the area. But dont tell everyone.. Dont like this place to be spoiled. Be aware: if you are looking for alcohol and big parties.. This place is not...

If you are looking to explore the wonders of biodiversity in Costa Rica, staying here is a must. The activities (most of which are included in the price) will help you understand the country and are all very interesting. We travelled as a family and there were plenty of activities for all age groups. The 'Naturalists' (mostly university graduates interning)...

Just a shout out that this is a great place to experience Costa Rica. It would make for a great school trip! We went as 3 families of 4 with elementary age kids and all had a nice time. We enjoyed guided night walks with educational specialists, attended a class on bugs which gave us (or our kids rather) a...
