The only good thing about this place was the view. It is far away from town and the drive is a long one down some horribly rough gravel roads. The accommodations are rustic but I was expecting a little of that considering it was a mountain lodge. However the rooms are just a bit better than those of a wooden...

We stayed here one night and though at first were a little surprised to see rather shabby look of the buildings and no view because of fog the overall experience was totally worth staying in this lodge. First we got the feel of being in the middle of the rain forest with fog all around at night and a stunning...

Having read recent reviews of this property we had great expectations but were all very disappointed.(party of 8 family & friends) After a day's driving we arrived late, in pouring rain, therefore extra chilly & damp, to find no fire or warmth to greet us in the lobby restaurant area & no choice of food for supper. Then difficulties with...

We went to the Vista Verde Lodge one afternoon for the waterfall hike. It was well worth the adventurous drive. Amazing view of the Arenal Volcano, very friendly staff and an incredible waterfall hike.

What a nice view! This place is a very nice location to visit when it is not cloudy. The road towards the hotel is quite bumpy but accessible with a SUV. We would definately recommend it! Breakfast was nice. We didnt try the dinner. Rooms are a bit outdated but nice and clean

The people running the eco-lodge are fantastic and have the ability and desire to help with anything and everything. We were greeted upon pulling into the parking lot, offered something to drink, made reservations that night for dinner, and met two other wonderful families that were staying here in the process. It wasn't appreciably cold. There were moments of rain...

First of all the road to the lodge is a decent experience, most part consists of riding on big rocks and avoiding deep holes. An AWD vehicle is surely a must. Than the hotel or Lodge, first impression will give you a shock, wooden barracks that seems hardly maintained and up close this is certainly the case for some of...

Our Host Eulogio and his Lovely Wife were Gracious and eager to please as was their staff member Francisco and his Friendly dog Sasha! They made arrangements to the Sky Trek Zip Line nearby and to the amazing Morpho's Restaurant in town not far away, and to our shuttle pick up the following morning! The Lodge reminded me of our...

It's quite a tricky slow drive, particularly towards the end as roads are steep and bumpy, but it's worth the visit. It's a real experience of the cloud forest, although if you are lucky you might get a clear view of Arenal lake which is stunning. The staff are very warm and superb cooks - some of our best meals...

Fantastic views in a quiet very serene location. Waking up to the views overlooking the cloud forest is unlike anything i have ever experienced. Watching the forest with the perfect cup of coffee in the morning (that comes from the plantation just down the road) added a great number of years to my life I do believe. The food is...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
All our rooms have stunning views of the lake and Arenal Volcano, something that if we make clear is that we are located in a cloud forest that means not always clear, we trail to a waterfall and others because the hotel has 100 acres primary forest. ... more   less
