I'm hoping that one of my friends makes a trip to Monteverde soon so I can recommend this wonderful place to stay. Where do I begin? First of all, the other reviews are correct -- it really is that great. Yes, you do feel like you are visiting family and I couldn't agree more about the food. And Carlos --...

The highlights of our 3 week tour of Costa Rica were: seeing a Quetzal in Monte Verde (with a guide recommended by Carlos) , the beach in Manuel Antonio Park and our 3 nights at Casa Batsu! Carlos (the owner) has that rare gift of making a guest feel as if he has been friends with you since childhood. From...

We travel a lot and have yet to come across a host as professional, kind and interesting as Carlos. He went out of his way to make our time at Casa Batsu memorable. Having discovered my interest in, and love of all things Jamaican, we noticed that he'd included some Jamaican music on the sound system and some Jamaican dishes...

Staying at Casa Batsu felt more like visiting a family member (that you really like) than staying at a B&B. First I have to talk about Paula and Carlos, the owner/operator/my new older brother. Above and beyond doesn't begin to describe his desire to make you comfortable and happy. He drove us into town, spent almost an entire afternoon with...

We had read a bunch of reviews on Casa Batsu, so we felt like it would probably be great, but even then the experience we had surpassed our expectations!!! Carlos and Paola were so incredibly genuine and hospitable. It honestly felt like we were staying with friend than in a hotel. The place is really unique - pretty, colorful, relaxing, and...

If you are traveling to Monteverde, and want a warm, welcoming and peaceful stay in a small B&B don't miss Casa Batsu. Carlos and Paula made us feel very much at home and could not do enough to make our stay special. Our first night we took advantage of an excellent dinner prepared by Carlos. While not a restaurant, Carlos...

Carlos and Paula welcomed us with a friendly smile and warm heart. Carlos gave us a tour of the house and grounds and them led us to our rooms. He made it clear that this was our house for the next couple of days.WOW Everything from the house, grounds, our room was exceptionally clean and tidy.He drove us into town to give...

Wish we could have stayed here longer. The welcome, the breakfasts, the staff could not be faulted. The place is a delight. The meal Carlos provided was cordon bleu. He will also provide you with many ideas for sightseeing and is most helpful and knowledgeable. The night trek is worth doing. Cannot recommend Cass Batsu highly enough. Thanks to his wife,Paula, too.

We absolutely fell in love with Casa Batsu. We stayed there four nights and wish we had planned to stay longer. The accommodations are charming, very clean, comfortable and simply elegant. The grounds are beautiful, and unique artwork and floral arrangements are scattered throughout the common areas and the bedrooms. But it is the gracious hospitality of the owners, Carlos...
