This was a beautiful place, both the rooms, grounds and common areas. None of that would matter if it also wasn't exceptionally clean and well-maintained, which it most definitely was. The hosts, Paola y Carlos, and the staff made us feel very welcome, and helped with everything we needed. The availability of the coffee and tea chest were appreciated by this slow morning starter, and breakfasts were a real treat- tasty, hearty, and well-balanced. What a great place. We hope for a repeat of this lovely experience next year.

We stayed at Casa Batsu for 3 nights with our 5 y/o son during our visit to the Monteverde area. The double roomed-suite was pretty deluxe for our little family. Breakfasts were amazing, but it was also really nice to come back and enjoy the indoor/outdoor common areas in the afternoon after morning and early afternoon activities. We really enjoyed our interactions with Carlos and his staff.

Wow, wow, wow!! The ‘EXCELLENT’ reviews for Casa Batsu are overwhelming and raving - and this is another. Our host Carlos and his lovely family were the most gracious and hospitable hosts we've ever experienced. Everything about Casa Batsu - the room, the grounds, the setting and the delicious breakfast were spectacular. Our breakfast was servered by Carlos, who is also the chef, in several small courses, beautifully presented and so very, very good. Carlos even took us into town which is a couple of miles from Casa Batsu to find a restaurant for dinner. Our room was perfect with fresh flowers and petals everywhere - in the shower, on the bed. It was so very charming. (So many flower petals, we left them a message😊). The room was quaint and very comfortable with a bath much nicer than most resorts. Our only disappointment is we were there for only one night. Had we known what an amazing experience it would be, we would have changed our itinerary to stay longer. This is the only place to stay if you’re visiting Monteverde. Thank you Carlos and family for our memorable stay!!

Carlos, our host, was so welcoming and kind. Carlos is quite the chef; he cooked us the best food we have eaten in Costa Rica. A four course breakfast with different dishes each day - homemade yoghurt and bread just to start. We loved cuddling his friendly pup Rex.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place to anyone looking to spend a couple nights exploring Monteverde!! The hospitality of Carlos and Paula is unparalleled. The best we have seen in our travels around the world!!! It feels like staying with family or friends really; rather than a hotel. We received a very warm welcome complete with fresh coffee, juice, and a local dish upon checking in; they arranged transportation and a tour for us at Curi Cancha, and even personally drove us to town and to the Monteverde Cloud Reserve out of the kindness of their hearts. They also went out of their way to put together a little surprise for my boyfriend's birthday in the room. The breakfast is in a class of it's own with the owner preparing fresh 4 course breakfast meals with the menu changing daily - the burritos were exceptionally delicious!!! The rooms were very clean, and just beautiful. Everything on the property is very well thought out including an open kitchen, beer/wine fridge, and coffee/tea at your disposal. The atmosphere of the place is very calm, peaceful and quiet with birds chirping. The town with restaurants/bars/cafes is only a 20 minute walk away making this place quiet and serene. We even saw toucans just outside of the hotel up the road. All in all, a wonderful stay that enriched our experience in Costa Rica. Thank you so much Carlos and Paula.

Our family just had the loveliest 2 night stay at Casa Batsu! We rented the 3 bed 2 bath suite, which was so spacious and comfortable! We felt like we were at a spa! And Carlos and Paula treated us to incredible food and hospitality! During the evenings, my husband and I enjoyed sitting outside on the patio and drinking wine while enjoying great music and ambience. I can’t say enough great things about our stay! My only complaint is that we didn’t have more time there.

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Batsu! It's a beautiful B&B with vibrant colours throughout plus a pretty garden filled with plants and trees and plenty of birds. Carlos and his family are extremely welcoming and truly made us feel relaxed and at home. Carlos recommended we visit Curi-Cancha reserve to see wildlife and he also arranged an expert guide for us. This turned out to be a brilliant recommendation, thank you Carlos. Carlos and Paula created incredible (and huge!) breakfasts for us each day. We never needed to have lunch! We stayed in the Mariposa room. We loved our room, it was so colourful and homely. The housekeeper did a wonderful job each day of cleaning our room and adding personal touches. Casa Batsu is located within walk of the local town where there are plenty of restaurants, shops and supermarkets. Carlos kindly drove us into town several times and arranged taxis for longer journeys. Within a few minutes walk you can find a beautiful spot to watch the sunset, it was spectacular. Carlos and Paula made our stay perfect. They went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcomed. It was also wonderful to get to know their gorgeous black labrador, Rex!

My husband and I had the most delightful stay at Casa Batsu. A former private home, it has been converted to a four bedroom B and B. The owner, Carlos, is a most hospitable, generous, and kind host. His breakfasts are delicious and beautifully presented. The patio, the landscaping, even the friendly family dog Rex provide a peaceful, relaxing setting. We loved our stay!

We stayed in the Colibri room in Casa Batsu in January for two nights and we all wish we could have stayed longer! Carlos was helpful from the moment of our reservation, helping us plan our transportation to and from the hotel. Carlos and his family were helpful and welcoming from the moment of our arrival and he even drove us around one day, showing us Monteverde and even bringing us to an artist's studio. His recommendations for restaurants and activities were outstanding & made our stay in Monteverde perfect. The breakfast each morning was amazing, with various courses including fresh fruits, yogurt, eggs, etc. If I could recommend one place to stay in all of Costa Rica, Casa Batsu would be it!

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Batsu! Carlos and his family were warm, welcoming and helpful. The place is spotlessly clean, the bed and room comfortable, and a good modern shower. Carlos is generous providing cold drinks for free around the clock and the breakfast was filling and delicious. It’s location great; we had a car and could drive to the town in a few minutes and the cloud forest reserves also a short 10 minute drive. Thank you Carlos for making our stay memorable.
