We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Casa Batsu! Carlos and Paula were perfect hosts, and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and happy during our stay in Monteverde. They provided us with a delicious mango smoothie when we checked in, and Carlos gave us a brief tour of the property while we enjoyed the...

Carlos and Paula are wonderful hosts and their goal is to make your trip wonderful. Breakfast is amazing every morning and you should eat dinner here at least once because Carlos is an amazing chef. We had the best ceviche of our trip here. On our second night, Carlos gave us two full glasses of wine and sent us to...

We had the opportunity to stay at Casa Batsu for 2 nights in December. I can't recommend this place enough! It is a small bed and breakfast with just 3 rooms. We are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 teens) who reserved a 2 bedroom unit. It was just wonderful for our family. But, truly the best part...

We visited Casa Batsu and it was most definitely the best place we stayed at during our trip to Costa Rica. Carlos is a wonderful host and we consider ourselves lucky to have met him and spent a great few days in Casa Batsu. The property is stunning beyond words. Pictures cannot do it justice. The breakfast is beyond phenomenal....

Carlos is a fantastic chef. Casa Batsu is a fantastic place. The Mariposa room was wonderful. I cannot find words (but as Tripadvisor requires 200 letters...). I recommend anyone to enjoy a dinner (or two) composed by Carlos. Please note that the beautiful glasswall has been painted by his wife, Paula.

Carlos welcomed us by telling us that this was our home while we were there, then followed up with it. The property is beautiful, we enjoyed watching the sunset in the field, walking through their coffee plants, or just watching birds in the garden. Carlos took the kids into the kitchen and let them help cook an amazing meal. He...

Our family of four (kids age 14 and 12) spent the first three days of our trip at Casa Batsu. The casa and the hosts were lovely, we would absolutely stay again. Carols is an incredible chef (invited the kids to cook with him and they did) and thoughtful host who clearly loves Costa Rica and what he does. We...

We arrived at Casa Batsu after a very, very cold and rainy hiking day, but Carlo’s genuine hospitality warmed us up immediately. He greeted us with wine!!! And made us an incredible dinner! (NOTE: do not miss a homecooked dinner here if you can help it!) Not to mention, the time he spent with us chatting and sharing his stories...

I walked into this B&B and felt I'd arrived in heaven. This 3 room b&b is set in a beautiful garden with a trail leading along some fields and into the forest right beyond the house. What is so special about this place is the owner, Carlos Jimenez. We felt completely welcome with a fruit smoothie when we arrived, a...

We stayed only one night in November. Arrived in the evening and Carlos greeted us with wine and a cocktail. We had a wonderful conversation about history of Monteverde and St Elena. Lodging is very nice although it was very humid at the time and the next morning was rainy. Breakfast was wonderful, cooked to perfection. It is very cozy...
